  • Patent number: 5037100
Abstract: A flat plate-like base member is arranged to be seated on a supporting surface. An upstanding pedestal is mounted on the top surface of the base member and has a front surface from which at least one elongated straight rod has cantilevered support in a plane parallel with the base member. The rod is supported at a height whereby a golf ball on the supporting surface and a putter head can be located freely thereunder so that the putter head can be moved into contact with the ball. The rod is of a length whereby the putter head can be moved therealong through a putting stroke while the golfer sights down on the putter head and golf ball in relation to the rod whereby to encourage a straight line impact against the ball. The rod is constructed of at least two disconnectable parts and the top surface of the base has recesses for holding these rod parts as well as golf balls when the putting aid is not in use.

  • Patent number: 4709729
Abstract: A pipe weld repair structure adapted to seal leaks or cracks at a weld circumferentially disposed in a pipe. Includes at least two pipe clamp segments disposed around the pipe and connected together to form complete clamp. Each clamp segment defines two inner surfaces adapted to be in contact with outer surface of pipe when clamps are connected together around pipe. Each clamp segment defines an inner grooved recess disposed between inner surfaces and adapted to enclose a weld circumferentially disposed around pipe when clamps are connected together around pipe. Clamp segments define an internal diameter when clamp segments are connected to form complete clamp. Internal diameter is conventional fit around pipe while clamp segments are at sufficiently high temperature to cause thermal expansion. Internal diameter is a shrink fit around the surfaces of pipe after clamp segments are connected together while at sufficiently high temperature and subsequently allowed to cool to same temperature as pipe.

  • Patent number: 4617694
Abstract: A finger-mounted device for cleaning teeth having an improved teeth cleaning surface, pick means for cleaning between the teeth, a nonslip finger-engaging means, and means for providing a length of dental floss. The improved teeth cleaning surface consists of a plurality of concave surfaces joined along their raised edges, each of the concave surfaces being adapted to clean a complimentary shaped convex tooth surface and the raised edges being adapted to clean the tooth edges. The teeth cleaning surface is preferably formed by soft bristles. A pick means comprises a section of hard bristles disposed within the soft bristle area, the distal ends of the hard bristles being tapered to form a point which lies beneath the soft bristle surface, the pick being exposed for cleaning between teeth by applying a greater pressure than that required for brushing the teeth with the soft bristles.

  • Patent number: 4568091
Abstract: A sealing member including a seal retainer sleeve provided in segments and two spaced apart grooves defined all around the inner wall of the sleeve. Sleeve is adapted to be fitted around outside of a cylindrical surface on each side of an opening. An elastomeric fluid pressure seal segment is mounted within each groove in the sleeve to provide a fluid tight seal within the spaced confined between the grooves. The bottom of each of the grooves is dovetailed to retain corresponding mounting beads of the seal. Each segment of the seal, as mounted within the grooves, is shaped with an outside diameter surface merging into the mounting beads. The high pressure bead of the mounting beads merges into the side of a groove extending axially into the segment. The other side of the groove merges into a flexible lip which is responsive to pressure applied within the cylindrical space. The lip extends into an inside diameter surface.

  • Patent number: 4529167
Abstract: A housing having a longitudinal aperature therethrough, and an exterior surface adapted to be securable to a container. A stem is longitudinally movable within the housing and is cooperatively conformed with the housing such that an annulus exists between a portion of the housing and the stem. The stem includes a plurality of ports allowing fluid communication between the annulus and a longitudinal cavity extending from the top end of the stem. A sealing instrumentality if included proximate a bottom end of the valve to prevent the flow of fluid into the valve annulus when the valve is in a first "closed" position. The stem is adapted to be moved longitudinally within the housing to a second, "open", position wherein the sealing instrumentality is released and fluid may enter the annulus and pass through the ports to exit the valve through the stem cavity.

  • Patent number: 4230348
Abstract: In one exemplar embodiment, an injection ring is provided that fits tightly between a flange face and a locking nut. The ID of the ring is larger than the OD of a slotted flange stud for creating an annular space about the stud communicating with the slot in the flange stud. The annular space is closed at one end by the lock nut face. The other end of the annular space communicates with the space between the flange stud apertures and the screw teeth of the slotted stud. A radial opening or aperture through the injection ring communicates with the inner periphery of the ring and the annular space for permitting injection of a suitable sealant through the slotted stud into the flange joint.

  • Patent number: 4209029
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for sealing a leak in a pipeline wherein a leak repair clamp is provided for originally sealing the leak. The clamp includes a body forming a cavity between the pipeline and body for receiving sealant and a passageway through the body for injecting sealant in the cavity. A plug is provided for stoppering the sealant passageway after the sealant has been injected and includes a blind passageway extending through a head portion and into a mounting portion to terminate at a plugging wall. In this manner, the addition of more sealant to the cavity is made possible by drilling through or removing the plugging wall of the plug to place the blind passageway in communication with the sealant passageway.

  • Patent number: 4202585
Abstract: A modular storage container for flexible recording disks is made up of a plurality of lightweight, flat rectangular panels which are interconnected to form a corresponding number of storage compartments. The outside panels have handle grips to facilitate handling or transporting of the containers, and each storage compartment contains an actuating lever mechanism which through selective depression of an associated push rod having a tab located externally of the compartment, will cause a selected disk to be advanced from its storage location for removal and use. A series of tabs alternate in such a fashion as to allow the rods to be close together without touching one another; yet each tab may be depressed individually without interference from the other tabs.
