Abstract: A process for the preparation of a functionalized, coupled or starred block copolymer which is usable in a sulphur-cross-linkable rubber composition of reduced hysteresis in the cross-linked state, one at least of said blocks consisting of a polyisoprene and at least one other block consisting of a diene elastomer other than a polyisoprene the molar ratio of units originating from one or more conjugated dienes of which is greater than 15%.
Abstract: A tire includes comprising a radial carcass reinforcement surmounted radially by a crown reinforcement including a working reinforcement. The working reinforcement includes two working crown plies of calendered inextensible metalic reinforcement elements and rubber mix, and a protective ply of metalllic reinforcements. The metallic reinforcement elements of the working crown plies are parallel to each other within each working crown ply and are crossed from one working crown ply to the next, forming with the circumferential direction angles ?1 and ?2 of between 10° and 45°. The working crown plies include a radially inner working crown ply having an axial with L3 which is greater than L2. A layer P of cohesive rubber mixes is arranged between at least the ends of the working crown plies.
Abstract: The wheel and tire assembly for running on ground includes measurement means carried by the wheel for measuring topological parameters of the inside surface of a pertinent portion of the tire. These measurement means comprise lighting and viewing means for lighting and viewing a calibrated surface pattern that is subjected to the deformation of the inside surface of the pertinent portion of the tire. The viewing means are preferably of the stereovision type or of the structured light type.
Abstract: The invention concerns a tire provided with a capacitative sensor including two substantially parallel electrodes, the sensor being carried by a sidewall of the tire. The electrodes of the sensor lie substantially in a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the tire and are substantially orientated in an ortho-radial direction. The invention also concerns a tire provided with a deformation sensor, a method for evaluating the deflection of a tire, and a deformation sensor.

Abstract: A tire tread incorporating an elastomeric composition reinforced with silica, based on at least (phr=parts by weight per hundred parts of diene elastomer): (i) a diene elastomer; (ii) as reinforcing filler, more than 80 phr of an inorganic filler constituted in its entirety or in part by a silica (referred to as LS) having the following characteristics: (a) a BET specific surface area of between 50 and 100 m2/g; (b) an average particle size, dW, of between 50 and 350 nm; (iii) a coupling agent providing the bond between the reinforcing inorganic filler and the diene elastomer; (iv) a vulcanization system based on sulfur. Preferably, this LS silica furthermore has a disagglomeration rate ? greater than 5×10?3 ?m?1/min (measured in the ultrasound disagglomeration test).
Abstract: An elastomer composition based on at least one diene elastomer, an inorganic filler as reinforcing filler, a polyfunctional organosilane as (inorganic filler/diene elastomer) coupling agent bearing at least two functions denoted “X” and “Y” which are graftable, on the one hand, to the elastomer by means of the X function and, on the other, to the inorganic filler by means of the Y function, characterized in that said Y function is a hydroxysilyl function (?Si—OH). Abstract: A technique for predicting the wear of at least one tire whose tread has pattern elements and which is fitted to a terrestrial motor vehicle, and a system for implementing the technique that enables a user, such as the vehicle's driver, to know reliably at any given moment the level of wear on the tire or on all the tires, or how long the residual wear will last, or even the remaining available running distance. Also, the piloting of drive-aid systems such as “ABS” (anti-block braking system) or “ESP” (electric programmed stability device) systems can be adapted as a function of the wear characteristics of the vehicle.
