Abstract: Nanoparticles of a functionalized and crosslinked polyvinylaromatic (PVAr) that may be used as reinforcing filler in a polymeric composition, the PVAr being a copolymer of at least: a vinylaromatic comonomer “A”; a comonomer “B” carrying a functional group denoted by Z of formula ?Si—X, X representing a hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group; a crosslinking comonomer “C” which is at least bifunctional and polymerizable by means of an addition reaction, it being possible for comonomer C to be vinylaromatic, in this case identical or different to comonomer A or non-vinylaromatic. The PVAr comprises, for example, a copolymer of styrene, ethylvinylbenzene, divinylbenzene and trimethoxysilylpropyl(meth)acrylate, being in the form of nanobeads, the diameter of which is between 10 and 100 nm. This PVAr filler, thanks to a very low density, allows the weight of polymeric compositions, especially elastomer compositions, to be reduced without degrading the reinforcement, and with an notable reduction in hysteresis.
Abstract: A suspension device (1) for suspending a wheel (2) with respect to the body (8) of a vehicle. The device allows a substantially vertical suspension movement and allows the wheel carrier (3) to move in terms of camber with respect to the body of the vehicle. The device comprises a slide (5) and a lower arm. The slide comprises an upper part (52) and a lower part (51) which can move one with respect to the other, the upper part being connected to the body and the lower part being connected to the wheel carrier. The device further comprises a rocker (4) articulated in the camber plane, on the one hand, to the lower arm and, on the other hand, via a link (7) to the wheel carrier, the rocker further being articulated in the camber plane to the lower part of the slide.
Abstract: A tire including a tread and a belt having a first and a second ply. The first and second plies are made up of substantially parallel metallic reinforcing cords embedded in a rubber composition that are inclined with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire, and the cords of the first ply are inclined with respect to the cords of the second ply. At least one dipolar electric element connects at least one cord of the first ply to at least one cord of the second ply. The path followed by the dipolar electric element between the cord of the first ply and the cord of the second ply extends into a part of the tread so as to be worn away before or upon reaching a tread wear limit.
Abstract: An automatic pressure and temperature control apparatus and method for use in curing tire assemblies including retread tire assemblies is provided. Using water as a heating medium, a new process control method and apparatus is described that allows a more precise control of process variables during steady state conditions such that heat transfer is improved and the undesirable formation of steam is eliminated. Existing processes and equipment for curing tire assemblies can be modified, using the teaching disclosed herein, to implement and achieve the benefits of the present invention.

Abstract: A CABAC-type encoding device for encoding an initial flow of binary digital information for generating an output flow for forming video images after decoding, includes: elements for analyzing successive sequences of bits of the initial binary flow, bit-by-bit, and for deducing, for each bit, an interval representing the occurrence probability associated with the bit, the interval being defined by the size thereof and the lower boundary thereof; elements for analyzing the interval and ensuring a renormalization thereof. The elements for ensuring the renormalization include: a reference table containing, for each possible value of the lower boundary and the size, sequences of bits to be inserted into the output flow, and the number of unknown bits waiting to be inserted for this specific renormalization step; and elements for determining the address of the data, in this reference table.

Abstract: Method of processing data in a vehicle tire monitoring system. For a first given period of time, referred to as the reference period, a device calculates, for each class of temperature supplied, the corresponding mean pressure in a given tire. Then, for at least a second given period of time, the device calculates, for each class of temperature supplied, the corresponding mean pressure and the difference between this mean pressure and the reference mean pressure, and the device calculates the mean value of these differences.
