Abstract: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) interacts with a user to provide tasks such as conveniently displaying information on a screen and moving with the user as they move. The AMD determines an area, or bounding box, of a user appearing within images obtained by a camera that is mounted on the AMD. A preferred area, with respect to the images, such as a center of the image, is specified to provide desired framing of images. As images are acquired by the camera, a difference between the bounding box and the preferred area is determined. Based at least in part on this difference, instructions are determined to move one or more of the cameras or the entire AMD to try and reframe the bounding box in subsequent images closer to the preferred area. Other factors, such as the user being backlit, may also be considered in determining the instructions.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for providing multi-phased programming with balanced Gray coding. A method includes programming, in a first phase, a first portion of data into memory cells of a flash memory in a first-level cell mode. The method also includes retaining, in a cache, at least a subset of the data. The method also includes regenerating the data from at least the cache, wherein the regenerated data includes a second portion of the data. The method also includes programming, in a second phase, the regenerated data in a second-level cell mode based on a mapping from the first-level cell mode to the second-level cell mode. The mapping maps each state distribution in the first-level cell mode to at least two non-adjacent state distributions in the second-level cell mode, and a width of each state distribution in the first-level cell mode may be narrowed.

Abstract: A real-time survey system can monitor real-time event and interaction data generated as a user interacts with an application. Using the event data in combination with static user attributes, the survey system can identify a subset of microsurveys a user is eligible to receive or participate in. Identifying eligibility can include applying one or more filters based on user attributes as well as detecting a triggering event that signals real-time relevance of the survey to the user's actions. If the user is eligible for multiple surveys, the survey system can select a single survey to send to the user. Surveys can be presented to users directly using the real-time survey system instead of via an alternate delivery method, such as email. After collecting survey data, survey system can automatically analyze survey responses, including by performing machine learning based thematic analysis on freeform text responses.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for fill modeling in hybrid last-mile deliveries. Hybrid last-mile delivery may refer to delivery of items in which a delivery vehicle meets customers at a pickup location at a specified time. Thus, instead of conventional last-mile delivery in which a delivery vehicle delivers items to an end point, such as a customer home, customers are to meet the delivery vehicle at a specified location and time to pick up items. The systems and methods described herein may include computational modeling of delivery vehicles and items to be delivered in a hybrid last-mile delivery to identify or select delivery vehicles and/or filling the delivery vehicles.
Abstract: A new generation “smart card” creates a severable invisible “bond” between the cardholder and the smart card itself where this trusted bond relationship is used to enhance and simplify the authentication process during the use. This new smart card is initiated and connected to a specific user using biometric information added to the card and the user using biometric information connects via a trusted bond with the card by pairing the biometric information which can be severed in one of multiple ways. The trusted bond with the smart card can be broken in one of multiple ways including disconnection from a network, distancing from the user, impact accelerometers, outside parameters, etc. The multi-function smart card also uses this established trusted bond with the user to simplify the authentication of the user for use of the card in encrypted computer network, ground security, or other retail and payment function.
