Patent number: 11636033Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for managing data in a non-volatile memory. The system may include a non-volatile memory having multiple non-volatile memory sub-drives. A controller of the memory system is configured to route incoming host data to a desired sub-drive, keep data within the same sub-drive as its source during a garbage collection operation, and re-map data between sub-drives, separate from any garbage collection operation, when a sub-drive overflows its designated amount logical address space. The method may include initial data sorting of host writes into sub-drives based on any number of hot/cold sorting functions. In one implementation, the initial host write data sorting may be based on a host list of recently written blocks for each sub-drive and a second write to a logical address encompassed by the list may trigger routing the host write to a hotter sub-drive than the current sub-drive.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2021Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: WESTERN DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Sergey Anatolievich Gorobets, Liam Michael Parker

Patent number: 11636381Abstract: A machine learning system for forecasting demand implements an improved process using event streams for predicting the impact that events in the geographic area surrounding an establishment have on demand forecasts for the establishment. A range of distances from the establishment can be determined and divided up into different distances. Event streams can be generated from the events by grouping the events into combinations of event attributes, such as event category and the distance of the event from the establishment. The event streams can be provided as inputs along with demand data for computing demand forecasts that account for increased or decreased traffic patterns in the geographic area surrounding the event. The event streams can be filtered based on the magnitude of the impact the events have on the demand for the products and/or services of the establishment before, during and after the event takes place.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2019Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: LEGION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Thomas Joseph, Yahya Sowti Khiabani, Sanish Mondkar, Gopal Sundaram

Patent number: 11636424Abstract: Load cells are used in a fixture of a facility to acquire weight data. However, some of the load cells used in the fixture may fail. One way to test a subset of load cells is to compare data from a first subset of load cells to a second subset of load cells using a linear regression. For example, the linear regression may help determine predicted values for the first subset of load cells. Actual values from the first subset of load cells are then compared to the predicted values. If the differences between the actual values and predicted values for the first subset of load cells are greater than a threshold, a determination is made that the first subset of load cells has failed. Weight data from the second subset of load cells may then be used to determine hypotheses for describing interactions at the fixture.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2020Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Paul Eugene Munger
