Publication number: 20120258561Abstract: In embodiments of the present invention an undoped amorphous, nanocrystalline or microcrystalline semiconductor layer and a heavily doped amorphous, nanocrystalline, or microcrystalline semiconductor layer are formed on a monocrystalline silicon lamina. The lamina is the base region of a photovoltaic cell, while the amorphous, nanocrystalline or monocrystalline layers serve to passivate the surface of the lamina, reducing recombination at this surface. In embodiments, the heavily doped layer additionally serves as either the emitter of the cell or to provide electrical contact to the base layer. The undoped and heavily doped layers are deposited at low temperature, for example about 150 degrees C. or less with hydrogen dilution. This low temperature allows use of low-temperature materials and methods, while increased hydrogen dilution improves film quality and/or conductivity.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2011Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: TWIN CREEKS TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Jian Li, Venkatesan Murali, Yonghua Liu, Dong Xu

Publication number: 20120257210Abstract: Dry oxygen, dry air, or other gases such as ozone are hermetically sealed within the package of the external cavity laser or ASE swept source to avoid packaging-induced failure or PIF. PIF due to hydrocarbon breakdown at optical interfaces with high power densities is believed to occur at the SLED and/or SOA facets as well as the tunable Fabry-Perot reflector/filter elements and/or output fiber. Because the laser is an external cavity tunable laser and the configuration of the ASE swept sources, the power output can be low while the internal power at surfaces can be high leading to PIF at output powers much lower than the 50 mW.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: AXSUN TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Peter S. Publication number: 20120260068Abstract: An ISA-defined instruction includes an immediate field having a first and second portions specifying first and second values, which instructs the microprocessor to perform an operation using a constant value as one of its source operands. The constant value is the first value rotated/shifted by a number of bits based on the second value. An instruction translator translates the instruction into one or more microinstructions. An execution pipeline executes the microinstructions generated by the instruction translator. The instruction translator, rather than the execution pipeline, generates the constant value for the execution pipeline as a source operand of at least one of the microinstructions for execution by the execution pipeline.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: VIA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: G. A license manager maintains license fee information on a number of biomarkers or biomarker associations. In one embodiment, a user may submit biological data for testing against one or more of the maintained biomarkers. The license manager determines which positive test results require use of licensed biomarkers or biomarker associations and may present this information to the user. In another embodiment, a set of biomarkers or biomarker associations may be submitted to determine if any biomarkers subject to license are included. The licensing manager determines whether licenses exist for included biomarkers and may return specific licensing information.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: INVIVOSCRIBE TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Jeffrey E. Publication number: 20120259942Abstract: According to this disclosure, a proxy server is enhanced to be able to interpret instructions that specify how to modify an input object to create an output object to serve to a requesting client. Typically the instructions operate on binary data. For example, the instructions can be interpreted in a byte-based interpreter that directs the proxy as to what order, and from which source, to fill an output buffer that is served to the client. The instructions specify what changes to make to a generic input file. This functionality extends the capability of the proxy server in an open-ended fashion and enables it to efficiently create a wide variety of outputs for a given generic input file. The generic input file and/or the instructions may be cached at the proxy. The teachings hereof have applications in, among other things, the delivery of web content, streaming media, and the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2011Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Nicholas S. Publication number: 20120260042Abstract: A microprocessor supports an instruction set architecture that specifies: processor modes, architectural registers associated with each mode, and a load multiple instruction that instructs the microprocessor to load data from memory into specified ones of the registers. Direct storage holds data associated with a first portion of the registers and is coupled to an execution unit to provide the data thereto. Indirect storage holds data associated with a second portion of the registers and cannot directly provide the data to the execution unit. Which architectural registers are in the first and second portions varies dynamically based upon the current processor mode. If a specified register is currently in the first portion, the microprocessor loads data from memory into the direct storage, whereas if in the second portion, the microprocessor loads data from memory into the direct storage and then stores the data from the direct storage to the indirect storage.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2012Publication date: October 11, 2012Applicant: VIA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: G.
