  • Patent number: 7123710
Abstract: Methods and systems for intelligent signaling-router-based surveillance are disclosed. A surveillance and signaling router receives call signaling messages, identifies call signaling messages associated with users under surveillance and determines a surveillance type for the call signaling messages. If the surveillance type is content-related, the surveillance and signaling router forwards the message to a call server. The call server replaces parameters in the message and in subsequent messages so that the call is transparently set up through a media proxy server. The media proxy server copies the media stream to a delivery function. If the surveillance type is non-content-related, the surveillance and signaling router sends a copy of the message or information extracted from the message to an external device.

  • Patent number: 7117411
Abstract: A communications network test system facilitates autonomous or attendant-free interaction between the administrative interfaces of multiple network devices under test. The test system includes device-specific communication interface packages that map generic commands to device-specific commands. A generic package includes generic procedures that access the device-specific packages to perform common functions, such as startup and cleanup. Test cases can thus be written using the generic commands without requiring the tester to have knowledge of device-specific demands. In addition, multiple devices can be simultaneously tested and monitored using a single test platform.

  • Patent number: 7110780
Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically bypassing a short message service center for short message service (SMS) messages destined for predetermined SMPP destinations are disclosed. A signal transfer point may receive SMS messages that are global title addressed to a short message service center. The signal transfer point may internally route such messages to a short message gateway. The short message gateway may identify SMS messages destined for predetermined SMPP destinations and forward those messages to the destinations in a manner that bypasses the SMSC. For other SMS messages, the short message gateway may forward these messages to the SMSC for delivery.

  • Patent number: 7092505
Abstract: Methods and systems for universal, automatic service selection are disclosed. A method for universal, automatic service selection includes receiving signaling messages and identifying signaling connection control part (SCCP) messages from the signaling messages. The SCCP messages are decoded to extract SCCP parameters and application layer parameters from the messages. A routing address translation service is selected for each of the SCCP messages based on application identifiers that identify application layer message types alone or in combination with other parameters. Selecting the routing address translation service in this manner makes the service selection more robust and universally applicable, especially in networks where different or non-standard selector parameters are utilized.

  • Patent number: 7088728
Abstract: Methods and systems for associating a plurality of different routes with the same destination and for routing signaling messages to the destination based on originating information associated with non-adjacent signaling nodes are disclosed. A routing database in a signal transfer point includes multiple routes to the same destination. The routes are distinguishable from each other in the routing database using message origination information associated with signaling nodes that are not adjacent to the signal transfer point. When a signaling message is received, origination and destination information in the signaling message are used in combination to select among multiple routes to a destination having a network address corresponding to the destination information in the signaling message. The signaling message is then routed over the route selected using the originating information. The selected route may be a high-speed route used to provide a particular quality of service.

  • Patent number: 7079524
Abstract: A signaling message processing and routing node intercepts and routes signaling system 7 (SS7)-based signaling messages received from the base station controller (BSC) component of a base station system (BSS) via an A-interface link interface. The A-interface normally connects a BSC node to a mobile switching center (MSC) node. Upon determining that a signaling message received from a BSC node via an A-interface link is an SMS-related message, the SMS message is routed towards the appropriate destination without involving the MSC node connected to the BSC. The SMS message may be encapsulated within an Internet protocol (IP)-based transport adapter layer interface (TALI) protocol packet and transmitted into an IP network. As a result, MSC resources are conserved.

  • Patent number: 7072678
Abstract: Methods and systems for triggerless mobile group dialing are disclosed. A method for triggerless mobile group dialing includes intercepting call signaling messages that contain mobile dialing codes. For these call signaling messages, a mobile dialing group ID is determined based on the calling party address in the mobile call signaling messages if the mobile call signaling messages contain calling party addresses. The mobile dialing group ID and the mobile dialing code are used together to determine a full called party address for each of the signaling messages. In lieu of using a mobile dialing group ID, a method is also presented for directly associating combinations of full E.164 calling party address digits and mobile dialing codes to full E.164 called party address digits. The full called party address is inserted in each of the signaling messages and each message is routed to its intended destination.
