  • Patent number: 7751470
Abstract: Time correlation of signal to distortion characteristics is achieved by acquiring time domain data for a frequency band representing a communication signal, the communication signal having multiple channels. The time domain data is simultaneously converted to frequency and demodulation domain data in sequential time blocks. The frequency and demodulation domain data are processed to obtain respectively frequency and demodulation domain measurements. The resulting measurements are displayed simultaneously as a function of time for all the time blocks and/or for a selected one of the time blocks. An ACLRogram display provides a display having a time axis and a frequency axis in the form of bars spanning the frequency band for each time block with each bar being divided into frequency sub-bands representing a main channel and adjacent side channels, the shading of each segment of the bar representing a measurement value for that segment.

  • Patent number: 7746058
Abstract: A sequential equivalent-time sampling oscilloscope simultaneously acquires samples of a signal-under-test and a reference clock that is asynchronous with the signal-under-test. The oscilloscope converts the samples of the reference clock into timestamps and uses the timestamps to compensate for the jitter of the oscilloscope and to indicate the absolute jitter of the signal-under-test.

  • Publication number: 20100150409
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include systems and methods for automatically detecting persons and/or other objects in a video signal. Automatic color compensation is applied to the video signal based on measured color of a reference area of the video signal. Generally the reference area is an area of the video signal that does not change often over time. The color compensated video signal is then analyzed for the appearance of objects and persons. In some instances the persons are identified using facial or other type of recognition. Counters or other trackers may provide real-time information, such as how many people are currently on a particular floor of a building.

  • Patent number: 7734464
Abstract: An autocorrelation trigger comprising a correlator detector for producing a correlation coefficient by correlating a signal with a time-delayed version of the signal and generating a trigger in real-time when the correlation coefficient corresponds to a predetermined condition is provided. A method of producing trigger based upon an autocorrelation measurement is also provided. The autocorrelation trigger may be used to produce a trigger based upon the degree to which the autocorrelation relates to an autocorrelation model, such as, the degree of randomness in a signal.

  • Patent number: 7729872
Abstract: Selectable portions of a display on a display screen allow a user to select bits of a digital signal. A mode selection menu changes the bit selection to select bits in different ways. If an individual bit designation mode is selected, objects are displayed that correspond to the respective bits of the digital signal. A user selects the object corresponding to a desired bit by use of a mouse. After bit selection, an eye pattern, derived from only selected bits, is displayed. Additionally, jitter analysis results derived from only the selected bits are displayed.

  • Patent number: 7720137
Abstract: A method of characterizing the frequency response of a frequency translation device over a wide IF bandwidth is based on a two-dimensional model to generate calibration data for a device at run-time. The model is a function of a center frequency and frequency offset for a plurality of center frequencies over a wide system bandwidth to produce a frequency response at each center frequency. • Patent number: 7697634
Abstract: An improved interpolation technique for reconstructing a complex signal from sampled data estimates a carrier phase for each sampled data time. The carrier phase is then used to compensate for frequency variation in the complex signal. The complex components of the sampled data are then interpolated separately with the interpolated results being used to produce an interpolated magnitude that is the reconstructed complex signal.

  • Patent number: 7692507
Abstract: A plurality of RF signals are generated with the RF signals synchronized with each other with high accuracy. Transmission data of the multiple channels are modulated, the modulated data of the channels are added to produce composite data and the composite data is stored in a data storage device. In the modulation process, the carrier frequencies are different from each other. The composite data comprises the data of the channels modulated in the frequency division multiplexing manner. The composite data is converted into an analog composite signal by a D/A converter and this analog signal is upconverted to an RF frequency by a frequency conversion circuit. A signal separation circuit produces two channel signals from the RF frequency signal. A signal output circuit generates the output signals having desired frequencies and signal levels.

  • Patent number: 7685479
Abstract: On a test apparatus for a telecommunication network a plurality of quality rules are defined as a function of the results of counts of events for a plurality of test parameters. The events relating to the plurality of test parameters during the performance of a test are counted. A plurality of statistics are created from the results of the counts. The statistics and quality rules which belong together are compared. A display is generated on a display unit in accordance with the results of the comparisons showing success or failure for each test run. Details of errors that caused any failure may be displayed using a drill-down technique so that test runs may be run rapidly without requiring expert knowledge of the test apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7685578
Abstract: A method and protocol tester for decoding data for the performance of a measurement task, which data is encoded in accordance with a protocol description, includes modifying the protocol description with respect to the measurement task by compressing protocol elements that are of no relevance to the measurement task and decoding the encoded data according to the modified protocol description to provide only decoded data relevant to the measurement task. The decoded data may be filtered before further processing according to a filter condition determined by the measurement task. Alternatively the filter condition may be installed as part of the modified protocol description. Then additional filtering may be applied when there are further filter conditions determined by the measurement task. The result is a protocol tester that permanently stores the protocol description while allowing modification of the protocol description for each measurement task, reducing storage and calculation requirements.
