  • Publication number: 20080278176
Abstract: A new methodology for the measurement of the S-parameters of a high impedance probe allows obtaining a full two port S-parameter set for the high impedance probe. The measured probe S-parameters are then used for characterization of probes. An alternative method characterizes half of the fixture and termination as a one-port network and expanding it into a two-port error box. The two-port error box is then cascaded with the probe input.

  • Publication number: 20080270440
Abstract: A data compression method for producing spectrum traces may divide signal data into multiple transform frames, produce a spectrum trace for each transform frame using a time domain to frequency domain transform, and combine the multiple frames from the analysis window into a single spectrum trace according to the spectrum amplitude of corresponding points in each frame. A device comprising a port to receive a signal or data set; and circuitry in communication with the port to segment the data record into frames, multiply each frame by a windowing function, transform each frame from a time domain representation to a frequency domain representation, and compress the frames using a detection function to create a single spectrum trace. This data compression provides flexibility to allow users to select analysis length, resolution bandwidth (RBW) and number of trace points independently, eliminating the coupling often found in traditional approaches.

  • Publication number: 20080258706
Abstract: A system and method for performing wide-band spectral analysis of transient signals using a real-time spectrum analyzer (RTSA). A frequency window is selected for RTSA acquisition, the frequency window being narrower in bandwidth than the frequency spectrum of interest. An RTSA is successively tuned to a plurality of different frequencies within the frequency spectrum of interest, where such successive tuning is controlled based on a characteristic of the signal. The RF signal is received, and, for each of the plurality of different frequencies, power data is acquired for the signal in a band centered on the frequency and having a bandwidth equal to that of the frequency window. A representation of the frequency spectrum of interest is then constructed from the power data acquired during the successive tunings of the RTSA.

  • Publication number: 20080253689
Abstract: A robust video temporal method for registration between test and reference video sequences without a priori knowledge of the respective signal parameters initially produces frame and subimage distillation measurements from the test and reference video sequences. The frame distillation measurements are linearly aligned using a local Pearson's cross-correlation coefficient (LPCCC) image to obtain a best alignment line, each pixel of which represents an LPCCC cross-correlation coefficient between frames of the test and reference video sequences. For each pixel of the best alignment line that is below a threshold, a vertical search is performed in the LPCCC image for a higher cross-correlation coefficient as the best cross-correlation coefficient to achieve temporal mapping between frames of the test and reference video sequences.
