Abstract: A sealabe dispenser adapted for mounting in a liquid containing reservoir, said reservoir having closable and openable inlet and outlet ports, the level of the liquid in said reservoir being capable of being lowered and raised by the appropriate manipulation of said inlet and outlet ports, said dispenser comprising at least one storage chamber containing material to be dispensed into said liquid reservoir, said material to be dispensed from said storage chamber by means of said liquid flowing into and out of said storage chamber, said storage chamber being provided with liquid passage means for permitting said liquid to enter and leave said chamber in response to the level of the liquid in said reservoir and venting means to vent the interior of said storage chamber to the atmosphere, moveable sealing means cooperating with said liquid passage means and said venting means to seal and unseal said liquid passage means and said venting means.
Abstract: A child resistant closure construction for one end of a container, such as a cylindrical container. A removable plug normally closes a dispensing opening at one end of the container, the plug provided with a radially extending ear. The plug and ear are so configured that removal of the plug by a child is difficult because there is no easy method to firmly manually grasp any portion of the plug. A raised abutment is integrally carried by the end closure of the container. Upon rotation of the closure plug to a certain angular position, the ear strikes the abutment and the ear tilts away from the container interior to thereby enable it to be grasped and pulled to remove the closure plug.
Abstract: An aqueous enzyme preparation stabilized with an ester of the formula RCOOR' where R is an alkyl of from one to three carbons or hydrogen and R' is an alkyl of from one to six carbons, the ester being in an amount of from 0.1 to about 2.5% by weight.
Abstract: A broom shroud that reduces the tendency of the broom handle to disassociate therefrom in view of forces encountered during use, the broom shroud comprising a broom shroud housing having a neck member having a bore, the neck member comprising a threaded collet or exterior neck portion having a plurality of vertical through slots, and a socket or interior neck portion; an internally threaded locking cap adapted to engage the collet, and means for securing bristles to the housing. Fastening the cap to the housing compresses the slotted portions of the collet, the collet tightly engaging the broom handle received by the bore. Preferably, the socket has a threaded section to receive a threaded end of the broom handle, thereby providing dual fastening means for the handle to the shroud.
Abstract: An improved push broom assembly is disclosed which includes a shroud portion retaining a plurality of bristles thereon and a neck portion angularly protruding from a face of the shroud portion opposite to that which retains the bristles thereon. The neck portion is comprised of two pieces, a first piece integrally formed with the shroud portion and including a recess, and a second piece designed to removably fit into the above noted recess and to combine with the first piece to comprise a completed neck portion. The completed neck portion comprised of the first and second pieces has internal threads which mesh with external threads on a broom handle and further includes exterior threads which mesh with a cap device having interior threads thereon and threaded over the neck portion so as to retain the first and second pieces thereof together.

Abstract: A container having an overcap, which container is adapted for closure by rotatable attachment of the overcap through a quarter-turn, the container comprising a container body having a neck, said neck having a pair of discontinuous threads describing, in opposed quadrants, arcs of about 90.degree., and a removable overcap having a planar top surface and an ovate skirt and having a cap member extending downwardly from said planar top surface, said cap member being provided with a pair of discontinuous threads describing in opposed aspect arcs of about 180.degree.
Abstract: The amount of gaseous flammable propellants such as dimethylether, difluoroethane, propane, butane, and the like can be increased to as high as from 30 to 50% by weight of a propellant composition by dissolving the normally gaseous propellant in the dispersed oil phase of an oil-in-water microemulsion. The aerosol propellant compositions can be simply prepared by metering the ingredients other than the gaseous propellants into an aerosol dispenser, then adding the gaseous propellant, under suitable pressure, into the aerosol dispenser whereby simply shaking of the dispenser will result in the spontaneous formation of an oil-in-water microemulsion which is clear and stable and which can contain as much as about 50% by weight of the gaseous propellant without causing flaming when the composition is sprayed directly into a candle flame.
Abstract: A passive dispenser for containing a quality of solution isolated from a body of liquid and for causing a predetermined volume of said solution to issue from the dispenser solely under conditions of gravity flow in response to the level of said body of liquid being lowered from a first elevation to a second elevation, said dispenser adapted for placement at the bottom of said body of liquid, comprising an upper section which is a cuplike member having an open bottom, the lower peripheral edge being an annular channel; a lower section which is a cuplike member having an open top, said cuplike members providing an internal reservoir for storage of cleaning solution formed upon dissolution of a water-soluble cake contained with said reservoir, the top peripheral edge of the lower section being disposed within said annular channel to define a discharge/refill conduit connecting said reservoir with the body of liquid and comprising two chambers in fluid communication with each other, one chamber being adjacent to
Abstract: A child-resistant closure comprising a can ring provided with an orifice through which the container is filled or emptied, the orifice having a peripheral rim in the form of an inverted U-shaped channel defined by an exterior leg and an interior leg, a portion of the interior leg extending below the lower edge of said interior leg to provide an unlocking tab, said can ring being further provided with indicia in its top surface to designate the location of said unlocking tab, and a cap, the cap comprising a disc portion; an annular ring portion disposed in a plane parallel to said disc portion, said annular ring portion having a peripheral sealing skirt; an annular wall connecting the disc portion and the annular ring portion, the annular wall forming with the sealing skirt an arcuate annular groove on the underside of the annular ring portion, the annular groove being adapted for flush superposition on the inverted U-shaped channel; a pull tab extending outwardly horizontally from the periphery of the annular
Abstract: A cleaning and polishing composition for acrylic plastic substrates, including Plexiglas, Lexan and the like, as well as other hard surfaces is provided by an aqueous dispersion of a fluid silicone oil such as polydimethylsiloxane, a nonionic or anionic surfactant such as sodium lauryl sulfate and a fluorinated organic surface-active compound, the balance being water. These compositions provide fast, streak-free and dust repelling cleaning and polishing, especially suitable for Plexiglas and other acrylic plastic materials.
