Patents Assigned to The Drackett Company
  • Patent number: 4480341
Abstract: A passive dispenser adapted for placement in a body of liquid for codispensing a first solution and a second solution in response to a lowering of the level of the body of liquid from a first elevation to a second elevation, the dispenser comprising a first chamber for storing said first solution having an inlet/outlet pathway comprising an interior conduit and an exterior conduit adapted to discharge said solution by siphon flow and further having a vent conduit extending to the atmosphere, and a second chamber for storing said second solution having a refill/discharge pathway comprising a conduit adjacent the chamber and a conduit adjacent the body of liquid and further having venting means, the refill/discharge pathway and venting means being adapted to isolate said second chamber from the body of liquid by means of the formation of air locks.

  • Patent number: 4480342
Abstract: The present invention provides a passive dispenser having dual sections for use in a toilet tank in which a disinfectant solution to be dispensed is stored in one section and substantially isolated from the water in the toilet tank, the section comprising a product chamber having a venting means and a refill/discharge pathway. The refill/discharge pathway is vented to the atmosphere and has an inclined conduit extending downwardly from the top portion of the pathway to the product chamber. Hydrostatic head obtained by use of refill/discharge pathway venting conduit in conjunction with the inclined conduit retards the outflow of solution from said product chamber during quiescent periods. Constriction means in the refill/discharge pathway venting conduit is preferred to provide turbulence during the refill cycle. In the other section of the dispenser, a soluble composition comprising a detergent, deodorant or other additive materials is stored.

  • Patent number: 4459710
Abstract: A passive dispenser adapted for placement in a body of liquid for dispensing materials, such as toilet tank additives, e.g., disinfectants, detergents, dyes, fragrances, and the like, in solution form from the dispenser in response to a lowering of the height of the body of liquid from a first elevation to a second elevation, the dispenser comprising two dispensing sections, the first dispensing section comprising a first product chamber containing a water-soluble cake, forming upon dissolution the first solution, and the second dispensing section comprising a second product chamber and a third product chamber, each said chamber containing a water-soluble cake, forming upon dissolution the second solution, the third chamber being disposed at least partially above the second chamber, there being fluid communication means therebetween, said second section being in separate relationship from the first section.

  • Patent number: 4455692
Abstract: A hanger to adjustably suspend a chemical dispenser from the rim of a tank comprising a hanger member and a retaining sleeve therefore integral to the dispenser, the hanger member being positionable at discrete levels, which hanger member is substantially non-removable from the sleeve once inserted. A pair of shoulders in the hanger member cooperate with shoulders in the sleeve to prevent removal of the hanger member. Should the hanger member be removed, misuse is prevented by providing the hanger member with a resilient bottom portion that is substantially incapable of puncturing or prying open the chambers containing the chemicals to be dispensed. In a preferred embodiment, a second anti-removal means is provided in the hanger comprising a pyramidal indent in the sleeve and a ramp type stop member in the hanger member.

  • Patent number: 4438534
Abstract: A passive dispenser for codispensing a predetermined volume of a first and a second solution into a body of liquid in response to a decrease in the level of said body of liquid comprising a first product chamber having a vent conduit and a refill/discharge pathway, and a second product chamber serially connected to a third product chamber thereabove by means of a conduit entering the second product chamber proximate the bottom thereof, said second and third product chambers having respective vent conduits and said second product chamber having a refill/discharge pathway, said pathways being siphon conduits.

  • Patent number: 4419771
Abstract: The present invention provides a passive dispenser for use in a toilet tank in which the solution to be dispensed is isolated from the water in the toilet tank. The dispenser comprises of internal reservoir for storing a quantity of the solution, an upper venting means having passive means to provide an upper air-lock, and discharge/refill conduit disposed below the upper venting means, the conduit comprising an air trap chamber and an air refill chamber connected by a transfer port so as to provide a lower air-lock for isolating the solution from the water in the toilet tank.

  • Patent number: 4388204
Abstract: Thickened aqueous alkali metal hypochlorite compositions are provided by adding to the aqueous solution of the hypochlorite an effective amount of a thickening additive composed of at least one of each of the following classes of anionic surfactants: (A) alkali metal sulfate salts of ethoxylated aliphatic alcohols; (B) alkali metal salts of N-alkyl, N-acyl amino acids, and (C) alkali metal salts of alkyl sulfates. The thickened compositions have viscosities of at least 25 centipoises and remain stable--no phase separation; maintain viscosity and hypochlorite concentration--for extended periods. Compositions especially useful for unclogging clogged drains, preferably those with P-traps, are described.

  • Patent number: 4375109
Abstract: The present invention provides a passive dispenser for use in a toilet tank in which the solution to be dispensed is isolated from the water in the toilet tank, the dispenser comprising a product chamber having a venting means and a refill/discharge pathway which are held in fluid communication by an inclined conduit. Hydrostatic head obtained by use of the venting conduit in conjunction with the inclined conduit is utilized to prevent the solution from flowing out of the product chamber during quiescent periods. Constriction means in the venting conduit are preferred to modify equilibrium hydraulic forces during the flush/refill cycles.
