Abstract: An evaporative fluid cooling apparatus includes a cooling housing, at least two fluid coils, an air movement apparatus, and one or more spray apparatuses. The cooling housing defines a cooling chamber with an air housing input and an air housing output. The fluid coils are positioned in and extend across at least a portion of the cooling chamber in a spaced apart stacked arrangement. One of the fluid coils is positioned closer to the air housing output and has a first fluid input configured to be coupled to a fluid return from one or more air handler devices and a first fluid output coupled to a second fluid input to the other fluid coil. The other fluid coil is positioned closer to the air housing input and has a second fluid output configured to be coupled to a fluid supply to the air handler devices.
Abstract: An optical transmitter including first, second, third and fourth signal generators configured to transmit first, second, third and fourth optical signals, a first filter configured to combine the first optical signal with the second optical signal to form a first multi-channel signal, a second filter configured to combine the third optical signal with the first multi-channel signal to form a second multi-channel signal, and a third filter configured to combine the fourth optical signal with the second multi-channel signal to form a third multi-channel signal. The first optical signal and the third optical signal have parallel optical axes, as do the second optical signal and the fourth optical signal. The second and fourth optical signals are at an angle of from 5° to 40° with respect to the first and third optical signals and are generally propagated in an opposite direction from the first and third optical signals.

Abstract: A multi-purpose vascular device defines a lumen allowing fluid communication there through and has a coil with a side of the coil winds having solid physical connections between the coil winds to prevent the connected coil wind side from expanding following the application of force by an actuating member which causes the connected coil winds to have a predetermined configuration in an unstressed state. The application of longitudinal force causes the unconnected coil winds to expand, resulting in the vascular device assuming a different configuration.
Abstract: A self-venting trashcan system for use with a trashcan having interior smooth sides and a bottom interior surface has an extruded rigid polymeric strip with an adjustable bend formed on its left and right sides bendable along a thin web for contacting smooth sidewalls of a trashcan. Along its height and perpendicular thereto a plurality of parallel easy-to-fracture lines are provided. The user breaks the polymeric strip to thereby adjust its height to be shorter than the height of the trashcan. The left and right sides of the polymeric strip are attached to the smooth sidewalls of the trashcan by double-sided pressure sensitive adhesive tape, leaving a gap or air entry/exit between the top and bottom of the polymeric strip and the top and bottom surface of the trashcan, respectively. During trashcan liner placement, air pockets are smoothed out.
Abstract: An optical subassembly, optical or optoelectronic receivers and transceivers including the same, and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. The optical subassembly includes a mirror configured to reflect an incoming optical signal at a first predetermined angle, a lens configured to receive the incoming optical signal from the mirror and focus the incoming optical signal onto a target, and an optical mount comprising at least one first surface configured to support the mirror, at least one second surface configured to support and/or secure the lens at a second predetermined angle, and a structural block configured to position and/or arrange (i) the at least one first surface at a third predetermined angle related to the first predetermined angle and (ii) the at least one second surface at the first and/or second predetermined angle. The first and/or second predetermined angle(s) are adapted to reduce a reflectance of the incoming optical signal.
Abstract: The invention relates to signals representing energy of photons or particles of ionizing radiation incident on pixels of a semiconductor detector. Cross talk between the signals from different pixels is compensated using cross talk compensation signatures in the form of time domain series or functions which are aligned and applied to the cross talk signal in accordance with timing of the event which gave rise to the cross talk.
Abstract: A case system for lead batteries is provided. The case system has an essentially six sided cuboid shape with two pairs of parallel sidewalls perpendicular to each other. Each pair of sidewalls defines two opposite surfaces of the essentially cuboid shape and further defines an interior volume inside the case system. The case system includes a further pair of parallel sidewalls, each of them perpendicular to the sidewalls above and each with a surface area larger than that of any one of the surface areas of the above sidewalls. One of the sidewalls is arranged as a separate cover wall for sealing the case system. At least one division plane is further included in the case system. The division plane divides the interior volume, such as to form a plurality of compartments, each for storing an electrical cell. All division planes are perpendicular to the cover wall. Further, an electrical cell, a lead battery and a lead battery layout including the above are shown.
Abstract: An LED adapter to retrofit non-LED light fixtures to accept LED lights without electrical rewiring. The LED adapter includes a multi-use base plug that is configured to connect to the socket on the non-LED light fixture and a universal LED plug configured to connect to the socket on an LED light. The multi-use base plug may be a four-pin square base, a two-pin (aligned or off-set) square base, a two-pin tombstone base, a two-pin oval base, or a threaded base. The adapter may also include a power regulator disposed between the universal LED plug and the multi-use base plug. The power regulator includes one or more resistor to adjust the current or voltage supplied by the non-LED light fixture so as to be compatible with the LED light fixture.

Abstract: An efficient stirling engine comprises an expansion chamber with a heater and a compression chamber with a cooler, wherein the two chambers are connected through a regenerator. A passage between the heater and the expansion chamber is provided with a first valve system, a passage between the cooler and the compression chamber is provided with a second valve system, the first valve system can close or open the passage between the heater and the expansion chamber, and the second valve system can close or open the passage between the cooler and the compression chamber. After adopting the structure above, when a heating end is heated to expand, a cooling end at the other end is closed, and on the contrary, when the cooling end is cooled to shrink, the heating end at the other end is closed, so that the heating energy is fully used, so as to increase the efficiency of the stirling engine.
Abstract: A carrying case for sterile objects includes: an outer container, having a lid; an optional tamper-proof seal coupled to said lid; a removable inner tray made of thermoplastic polymer; and a handle coupled to said inner tray. In another embodiment, the outer container is constructed of a polymeric material capable of being sanitized to be transported in its entirety into a sterile environment, providing a user with a greater selection of items since the user could have access to the entire contents of the case. The material and design of the case with the removable tray make it lightweight, enable easy and effective cleaning, and minimize the risk of contamination. In an operating room environment, the case provides faster access to required medical equipment while minimizing the risk to patients. The case would also be valuable in research and forensic laboratory environments where contamination is a major concern.

Abstract: A compression foot garment is integrally knit of a body yarn, and adapted for wear on a foot of a user. The foot garment incorporates first and second high compression zones, and a compression release zone between the high compression zones. The first high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot below the plantar fascia between the calcaneus and metatarso-phalangeal joints and generally around the midfoot. The second high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot above the calcaneus and generally around an ankle of the user. The first and second high compression zones may comprise elastic yarns integrated with the body yarn. The compression release zone is adapted for applying reduced compression to the foot in an area between the first and second high compression zones.
Abstract: An apparatus for producing 99Mo from a plurality of 100Mo targets through a photo-nuclear reaction on the 100Mo targets. The apparatus comprises: (i) an electron linear accelerator component; (ii) a converter component capable of receiving the electron beam and producing therefrom a shower of bremsstrahlung photons; (iii) a target irradiation component for receiving the shower of bremsstrahlung photons for irradiation of a target holder mounted and positioned therein. The target holder houses a plurality of 100Mo target discs. The apparatus additionally comprises (iv) a target holder transfer and recovery component for receiving, manipulating and conveying the target holder by remote control; (v) a first cooling system sealingly engaged with the converter component for circulation of a coolant fluid therethrough; and (vi) a second cooling system sealingly engaged with the target irradiation component for circulation of a coolant fluid therethrough.

Abstract: A light assembly includes a laser light emitting diode for emitting a light beam along an axis and a diffusing assembly for deflecting the light beam substantially 360 degrees around the axis. The diffusing assembly includes a light diffuser for receiving and scattering a light beam emitted from the diode, a phosphor tube for further scattering the light emitted from the diffuser, and a mirror for returning any light with is not deflected radially through the phosphor tube back into the phosphor tube. The deflector has a reflective end surface to allow the light repeated passes thorough the phosphor tube until it escapes radially through the tube.

A privatized image is generated to represent the set of electronic documents by identifying probable-pixel and proven-pixel locations within a subset of images. The subset of images is used to create blurred and obfuscated image having the private information distorted.
