  • Publication number: 20080124602
Abstract: A method of producing a reversible solid oxide cell. The method includes the steps of tape casting an anode support layer on a support (1); tape casting an anode layer on a support (2); tape casting an electrolyte layer on a support (3); and either laminating said anode layer on top of said anode support layer; removing said support (2) from said anode layer; laminating said electrolyte layer on top of said anode layer; and sintering the multilayer structure; or laminating said anode layer on top of said electrolyte layer; removing said support (2) from said anode layer; laminating said anode support layer on top of said anode layer; and sintering the multilayer structure.

  • Publication number: 20080118635
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a reversible solid oxide fuel cell, comprising the steps of: —providing a metallic support layer; —forming a cathode precursor layer on the metallic support layer; —forming an electrolyte layer on the cathode precursor layer; —sintering the obtained multilayer structure; —impregnating the cathode precursor layer so as to form a cathode layer; and —forming an anode layer on top of the electrolyte layer. Furthermore, a reversible SOFC is provided which is obtainable by said method. The method advantageously allows for a greater choice of anode materials, resulting in more freedom in cell design, depending on the desired application.

  • Publication number: 20080096079
Abstract: A method of producing porous membrane structure for fuel cells by means of Fe—Cr alloy powders and oxides of Fe—Cr alloy powders and oxides of Fe, Cr, Ni or Co is characterised by said powders being mixed so that Fe/(Fe+Cr) is in the range of 50-90%, a paste of said powders being produced by means of solvents, surfactants or binders, pore formers possibly being added in order to obtain porosity, and if the product produced by means of the suspension is to be dense, sintering aids may be added as appropriate sites, the suspension being tape-cast, extruded, rolled or the like and heat treated or the like and heat treated in an oxygen containing atmosphere for burn out of organic components and sintered in highly reducing atmosphere for reducing to Fe, Ni, Co and possibly also to Cr so that oxides of Fe, Ni, Co and Cr are at least partly reduced to metallic states reacting with the Fe—Cr powder. As a result the requirements to TEC corrosion resistance etc. are fulfilled.

  • Patent number: 7130060
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for absolute refractive index measurements are disclosed, wherein a beam of spatially coherent laser light is directed perpendicularly on to a side of a capillary tube (12) and back reflected light is detected (16) over a range of angles (22) with respect to the incident light beam. The refractive index of a liquid contained in the capillary is determined from the angle at which a marked change in the intensity of the interference fringes of the interference pattern formed by said back reflected light is observed or from the amplitude of a low frequency component of the angular variation of the intensity of interference fringes.
