  • Patent number: 12009660
Abstract: Described herein is a capacity system that predicts capacity needs of a system. The capacity system captures outputs from meters coupled to subsystems within the system, where the outputs are not expressed in standard power units. For each subsystem, the capacity system determines values for a set of conversion factors related to the subsystem. The conversion factors describe the design and operation of the subsystem. The capacity system converts the outputs to standard power units based on the set of conversion factors and simulates behavior of the subsystems based on trends shown by the converted outputs. The capacity system forecasts an expected capacity of the system over a time period and uses the forecast to predict a date during the time period when the subsystem will experience a reduction in capacity.

  • Patent number: 12003480
Abstract: The authorized IP addresses configured at components in an IMS network may become out of sync with a first pool of IP addresses provided by a core network to UEs. This may result in emergency communications being received at the IMS network from a UE using a first IP address of the first pool of IP addresses that is not recognized by the IMS network. A session management component of the core network may automatically assign a second IP address from a second pool of IP addresses based on determining the session management component has not received an update notification from the IMS network within a threshold time (e.g., 500 milliseconds, 1000 milliseconds, etc.) from transmitting a request to establish a packet data communications session to the IMS network using the first IP address. The IMS network may then receive packets from the second IP address.

  • Patent number: 12003664
Abstract: To reduce the likelihood that test E911 calls will be improperly connected to a public safety access point (PSAP), while ensuring that mobile devices sold to consumers are correctly routed to a PSAP in an emergency, a system for automatically redirecting test E911 calls to an answering system is disclosed. An unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) node receives a first USSD message from a mobile device during E911 testing procedure at the mobile device. In response to identifying a first code in the first USSD message, the USSD node retrieves an identifier associated with the mobile device. The USSD node sends an instruction to a gateway mobile location center (GMLC) system to redirect E911 calls from the mobile device based on the retrieved identifier such that a subsequent E911 call placed by the mobile device is automatically rerouted by the GMLC to an answering line instead of a PSAP.

  • Patent number: 12004030
Abstract: Systems, devices, and techniques described herein relate to parallel routing of data packets prior to and/or during a handoff event for a user equipment (UE) between cells. An example method includes determining, by a network device, that a UE is about to participate in a handoff event while the network device is transmitting data packets associated with a service to a cell currently in communication with the UE. The network device may determine a destination cell in which the UE will be performing the handoff with and may replicate the data packets and send the data packets to both of the current cell and the destination cell in parallel. When the UE performs the handoff with the destination cell, the data packets required for receiving the service will already be present and the UE will not experience any interruption in the service prior to and/or during the handoff.

  • Patent number: 11997554
Abstract: System and methods for smart cell selection and reselection are described. A mobile device may attempt to camp on a cell in a tracking area that has advertised a particular frequency band. If the mobile device is unable to recognize an information element identifying a different subset of the advertised frequency band than that supported by the mobile device, the mobile device will store a record of the tracking area and the advertised frequency band and compare future cell information broadcasts to the entry, avoiding attempts to operate within cells in the same tracking area advertising the same frequency. In this way the mobile device conserves resources by avoiding actions in incompatible cells and avoids storing information about many cells by only storing the tracking area information.
