Abstract: A piezoelectric gas lighter has an actuator cap which is mounted on an upper part of a lighter body to be movable up and down between upper and lower positions relative to the lighter body and is urged to the upper position. The actuator cap is depressed toward the lower position to discharge fuel gas stored in a reservoir provided in the lighter body and to actuate an ignition mechanism to ignite the fuel gas.
Abstract: An improvement of noncontrolling type valve for use in a gas-lighter, a portable cooking stove and other burners, which valve comprises a valve body push-fitted in a recess formed in the top plate of a gas container; and a filter positioned under the valve body to permit a given constant flow of gas to pass to the valve body when the valve opens. The valve is improved according to the present invention in that an annular spacer is fixed to the annular inside edge of the uppersurface of said filter, allowing the bottom end of said valve body to contact the remaining center area of the uppersurface of said filter. The coplanar positioning of the bottom end of the valve body with the annular spacer prevents deformation of the filter even if it is exposed to an increased gas pressure, thereby assuring that the gas flows through the filter at a controlled rate all the time.
Abstract: A noncontrolling type valve comprised, in the recess of the top plate of a gas container, valve means, a filter positioned below the valve means to permit a given constant flow of gas to pass to the valve means when opened, an annular spacer fixed to the filter and a net structure sandwiched between the filter and the bottom of the valve. The net structure is to prevent any displacement or deformation of the gas flow controlling filter, which displacement or deformation would be otherwise caused if the filter is exposed to an increased gas pressure, and then the valve could not keep the gas flow rate constant, and hence the flame length constant and stable. The filter can be put in position simply by push-fitting an associated annular spacer in the recess.
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement of gas lighter of the type which comprises a main body having a gas well, a gas-ejection nozzle fixed to the ceiling of the gas well, a cap operatively connected to the gas-ejection nozzle, and a fire-striking unit having a rotatable file and an associated flint. Such a gas lighter is improved in that the fire-striking unit has a connecting pipe under its bottom surface, the pipe communicating with the gas-ejection nozzle at its rear end and being open at its top end in the vicinity of the rotatable file. The building-in of the connecting pipe on the lower surface of the fire-striking unit permits reduction of the number of parts to be handled in the assembling line.
