Abstract: Disclosed is a gas lighter equipped with a safety lock, which is an L-shaped slidable stopper so slidably fitted in the reentrancy of the thumb-push gas lever that its vertical leg may be on the top of the lighter housing when its horizontal leg is pushed in the reentrancy of the gas lever, thus preventing the descent of the gas lever for lighting, and that its vertical leg may be off from the top surface of the lighter housing when its horizontal leg is drawn to the full length, thus permitting the descent of the gas lever for lighting. A gas lighter according to the present invention assures in its locking condition that an accident which may be caused when a child plays with the device, such as a burn or an accidental fire is prevented.
Abstract: Disclosed is a rod-shaped piezoelectric igniter comprising a liquefied gas reservoir section equipped with an ejection valve, which is responsive to operation of an acutating lever for ejecting gas; and an ignition mechanism section including an ignition nozzle functioning as an ignition electrode with a counter electrode projecting inward from a metal hollow cylinder encircling the ignition nozzle, a piezoelectric generator mechanism partly exposed to permit access thereto for pushing operation, the minus terminal of the piezoelectric generator being responsive to the pushing operation for operating the actuating lever, an electrically conductive conduit connecting the ignition nozzle to the ejection nozzle, and a lead conductor connecting the metal hollow cylinder to the plus terminal of the piezoelectric generator mechanism.
Abstract: Disclosed is a rod-shaped gas igniter including an ignition nozzle, a finger-operative piezoelectric generator, a liquefied gas reservoir, means responsive to the operation of the piezoelectric generator for opening valve means associated with the liquefied gas reservoir, thereby permitting gas to flow to the ignition nozzle, an inner protecting hollow cylinder having longitudinal slots circumferentially spaced for ventilation and enclosing the ignition nozzle, and an outer metal hollow cylinder having longitudinal holes circumferentially spaced for ventilation and encircling the protecting hollow cylinder, the longitudinal slots and holes of the inner and outer hollow cylinders being staggered to each other.
Abstract: A portable, fail-safe aerosol container comprising an elongated tank body having an ejection nozzle head to be depressed for dispensing a spray of aerosol, an elongated guard rotatably fixed to the top of the tank body about the ejection nozzle head having slots on each of its long sides for alignment with the ejection nozzle on the nozzle head and a lock for preventing depression of the ejection nozzle head when the guard is in alignment with the tank body and permitting depression of the ejection nozzle head when the guard is turned to lie across the aerosol container with a slot on either of the long sides of the guard in alignment with the ejection nozzle.
Abstract: A pressure container for dispensing a flowable product in the form of an aerosol. The pressure container includes a container body having a hollow plug welded to an inner surface of the body. A spring-loaded spouting tube having a valve port is slidably received in the plug with a portion of the tube projecting above the plug. An annular deformable gasket is disposed about the spouting tube for normally closing the valve port. An externally threaded guide member is disposed about the spouting tube and is seated on the gasket. An actuator having a spray nozzle is fitted on the spouting tube projecting portion.
Abstract: Disclosed is a valve for use in a pressure-resistant container, permitting the full filling of the container with a liquefied gas thanks to a well controlled gas depletion path. The opening and closing of the depletion path is effected by bringing two opposing contact members apart and close to each other whereas the flow rate of gas depletion depends on the roughness of the contact surface areas of the opposing member. Such an appropriate depletion path can be made without difficulty such as encountered with formation of depletion path with recourse to machining.
