  • Patent number: 4884964
Abstract: Disclosed is a file assembly which is adapted to be fitted in and integrally connected to the top of a gas lighter housing, comprising a rotatable file disk and a file block having two opposite support plates each having a semicircular-and-wide-and-narrow slot made on its inside, leaving its outside for ornamental space. Necessary bearings for the flint wheel can be formed by inserting narrow-and-wide rectangular pieces in the semicircular-and-narrow-and-wide slots of the opposite support plates, leaving the semicircular-and-narrow rectangular spaces enough to snugly accommodate the opposite ends of the axle of the flint wheel, thereby eliminating the necessity of making very small pivot holes exactly at selected places in selected parts of the lighter, and hence reducing the manufacturing cost by as much as would cost if such very small holes were made exactly at selected places in selected parts of the lighter.

  • Patent number: 4878834
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement of gaslighter structure which has, in the hollow cylinder space at the rear portion of the housing, a push rod having hooks integrally connected to its opposite sides. The push rod is spring-biased upwards, and is pushed against the support piece of the cap, thereby permitting the cap to click shut and open. This arrangement permits necessary parts including a spring to be assembled in a cap pivot-and-latch simply by thrusting them in the rear space of the housing. This reduces the difficulty which otherwise, workers would encounter in assembling parts including a resilient element in a relatively small space. Also, the work of pivoting the cap to the housing can be advantageously separated from the work of assembling pivot-and-latch parts.

  • Patent number: 4811868
Abstract: A valve for aerosol container to dispense a given amount of aerosol from an associated aerosol tank, comprising a base solid providing a valve chamber and a valve stem slidably fitted and upwardly biased by a spring in the chamber. An inlet is made on the bottom of the chamber thereby permitting injection of aerosol from the associated aerosol tank. The valve stem provides a longitudinal channel and an outlet communicating the channel with the valve chamber, and a valve head fixed to the bottom end. A valve ring fitted at the upper side of the chamber in air-tight fashion shutting the outlet all the time. Whereby on depression of the valve stem, the valve ring is yieldingly bent for opening the outlet of the valve stem, thereby allowing a predetermined amount of aerosol to flow out of the valve chamber and eject from the longitudinal channel of the valve stem while shutting the inlet on the bottom of the chamber with the valve head of the valve stem.

  • Patent number: 4786248
Abstract: Disclosed is a piezoelectric type gaslighter equipped with a thumb-latch for preventing an inadvertent fire which may be caused, for instance, when a child plays with a gaslighter. A gaslighter according to the present invention includes an intermediate casing and a piezoelectric unit having a movable operating part. The intermediate casing has a cross slot opening with a thumb-latch slidably fitted therein whereas the movable operating part has a longitudinal slot groove. The piezoelectric unit is properly inserted in the intermediate casing so that the longitudinal slot groove of the movable operating part intersects the cross slot opening of the casing. With this arrangement when the thumb-latch is displaced to the crossing at which the longitudinal slot groove intersects the cross slot opening, the movable operating part can move to strike the piezoelectric element for producing a small flame. Otherwise, the movable operating part is latched.
