Abstract: A power tool assembly includes a power tool having a battery support portion that defines a battery insertion axis and a battery operatively engageable with the power tool support portion along the battery insertion axis to provide power to the power tool. The power tool assembly also includes a battery latching mechanism having a latch pivotable about a pivot axis transverse to the battery insertion axis and engageable with one of the battery pack or the battery support portion for securing the battery pack to the battery support portion. The battery latching mechanism further includes a handle coupled for pivoting movement with the latch about the pivot axis.

Abstract: A pouch-type battery comprising: a pouch-type battery case having a joined wall and a cell space within the pouch, a battery cell within the cell space, a terminal tab extending outwardly of the cell space from the battery cell, said joined wall comprising at least a first sealing portion having a first sealing strength, and a second sealing portion having a second sealing strength that is less than the first sealing strength such that the second sealing portion is adapted to fail before said first sealing portion, and an electrical contact located with the second sealing portion and adapted to change contact state upon failure of the second sealing portion.
Abstract: A pocket hole jig includes base with a base plate and first and second lateral side walls extending along the base plate, and a body disposed between the first and second lateral side walls and slidable along the base in a forward direction and a rearward direction. The body includes a drill bit aperture angled downward toward the base plate. The pocket hole jig also includes a fence movable between a raised position and a lowered position and having a contact surface engageable with an end of the workpiece when the fence is in the lowered position to position the base a predetermined distance from the end of the workpiece. The contact surface is in a first position when the fence is in the raised position and a second position when the fence is in the lowered position. The second position is forward of the first position.

Abstract: The various implementations described herein include apparatuses and methods used to operate engine-based equipment using an electric starter motor. In one aspect, a method for operating an apparatus includes starting an electric starter motor. In response to starting the electric starter motor, the electric starter motor is coupled to a flywheel and the flywheel is turned. In response to turning the flywheel, an engine coupled to the flywheel via a power take-off of the engine is started. After starting the engine, the electric starter motor is decoupled from the flywheel and thus from the engine, and the engine is used to turn the flywheel, thereby enabling operation of a primary assembly coupled to the flywheel.
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a recovery tank support structure for a surface cleaning device such as an extractor. The support structure partially encircles and supports the recovery tank removably mounted to a base in order to prevent any unwanted movement of the tank or its contents during operation of the extractor. The support structure creates a void for housing the recovery tank, wherein a locking mechanism may be employed to engage the recovery tank and secure it in position. An upper portion having a handle for propelling the extractor is pivotable about the base independent of the support structure thereby allowing a user access to a wide range of pivoting motion and maneuverability during extractor operation.
Abstract: A handheld kitchen appliance assembly including a drive unit having a housing, a rechargeable battery disposed within the housing, and a motor disposed within the housing and powered by the battery. The handheld appliance assembly also includes a tool having an attachment portion for releasably connecting the tool to the drive unit. The tool is selectively driven by the drive unit when the tool is connected to the drive unit. A charging unit includes a cavity sized and shaped to receive a portion of the drive unit. The charging unit includes a power supply and is configured to send a charging current to the battery of the drive unit to recharge the battery when the drive unit is received within the cavity. A cradle includes an opening sized and shaped to support the tool when the tool is disconnected from the drive unit. The cradle includes a linkage that is engagable with the charging unit for selectively connecting the cradle to the charging unit.
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a triggerless extractor surface cleaning device for cleaning a surface in which a cleaning solution is distributed to the surface and extracted using suction along with dirt and/or debris on the surface in a continuous operation as the extractor moves along the surface. The extractor further comprises an encoder positioned adjacent a wheel of the extractor for detecting a rotational direction and speed of the wheel to generate a signal. Based on receiving the signal, a controller controls operation of a valve to situationally distribute the cleaning solution to the surface depending on a forward rotation of the wheel and independent of user actuation of a trigger positioned on a handle used to propel the extractor along the surface. Distribution of the cleaning solution can be further optimized based on the detected rotational speed of the wheel.
Abstract: A winding mechanism, a string trimmer head, and a method of winding line. The head may include a body, and a spool supported by the body, a line being supportable by the spool. The winding mechanism may include a crank engageable to rotate the spool to wind the line onto the spool. The trimmer head may include a bump knob engageable with the spool, and the crank may include a crank body engageable with the bump knob to rotate the spool. The crank may further include an arm connected to the crank body and a handle connected to the arm and engageable by a user to pivot the crank.
