  • Publication number: 20030184884
Abstract: An imaging device for an optical scanning module of an optical scanner apparatus is disclosed. By use of an optical well imaging device to replace the conventional micro-lens imaging device to receive the straight imaged light, which is generated from the scanning object is illuminated by an illuminant. Moreover, the height of the non-inducted region on the optical sensor is higher enough to block the interfered light that is formed by other beam of the imaged light such that the optical sensor can receive the part of the beam of the straight imaged light and will not be interfered. Therefore, by use of the optical well imaging device, the light dispersion effect can be improved and the imaging data can be completely focused on the optical sensor to obtain an optimum resolution and the best MTF (modulation transfer function).

  • Patent number: 6626057
Abstract: A speed-changing gear set inside the drive system of a scanner, wherein the drive system has a driving motor and an output unit. The speed-changing gear set has a control element and a cam driven by the control element. The cam has a first set of gears fastened to the cam such that one of the gears in the first group engages with a gear on the output unit. An axle is in contact with the cam such that movement of the cam produces a shift in the position of the axle. The axle has a second set of gears mounted on the axle. When the cam stops at a first designated position, one of the gears in the first set of gears meshes with the driving motor so that the output unit is driven. When the cam stops at a second designated position and shifts the position of the axle, gears in the second group mesh with the gear on the driving motor and a gear in the first group, respectively. The output unit is thus driven by the driving motor through the gear train that has the first set of gears and the second set of gears.

  • Patent number: 6608301
Abstract: A single step multi-section exposure scanning method for a scanner. The scanner includes a photo-sensor and a stepper motor. The photo-sensor has N rows of sensor cells that correspond to each primary color. The scanning device is driven forward an exposure distance for each revolution of the stepper motor. • Publication number: 20030147102
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scanning method, more particularly, to a two-directions scanning method by using a user interface (UI). At first, a scanning mode is chosen and the first dpi (dots per inch) of the preview procedure is set in the user interface. Then an instruction is keyed in the user interface to make a scan head move along the first scanning direction by using the first dpi and start the first scanning procedure. The first scanning procedure is a preview procedure. After finishing the first scanning procedure, a user can view the first image, which is got from the first scanning procedure, on a monitor and the scan head moves along the second scanning direction by using the second dpi to start the second scanning procedure. The second image data, which is got from the second scanning procedure, is saved in a memory. The second dpi is usually the highest dpi of the scan head.
