  • Patent number: 5360144
Abstract: Dispenser for dispensing simultaneously two liquids held in respective flexible containers, one within the other. Concentric tubular passages are provided for flows of the liquids from their containers when pressure is applied to the outer container. The inner passage has a narrow elonage form and terminates within the outer passage a final exit section of which provides a common conduit for both flows. A reduced liquid pressure is produced at the inner passage termination by having a tapered upstream end of the conduit overlapping the termination and the conduit is configured to inhibit mixing of the flows along its length. The two liquids are thus dispensed in a single stream in which, e.g., a colored flow from the inner passage is visible in the core of the stream. By adjusting the position of the conduit taper relative to the inner passage termination, it is possible to vary the proportions of the two components in the flow.

  • Patent number: 5349075
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the esterification of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.24 monocarboxylic acid with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 monoalcohol in a reactor at an increased reaction temperature and increased pressure which is carried out in the absence of any esterification catalyst while continuously feeding in the alcohol during the reaction and removing a gaseous alcohol/water mixture. Preferably the process is carried out in countercurrent in column reactor which is packed or contains plates. The reaction temperature is usually between 200.degree. C. and 260.degree. C. at a pressure between 0.5 and 1.5 MPa. There is a C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 monocarboxylic acid and monoalcohol a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 monoalcohol. More preferably the process is carried in two steps with a first step as described above and a second step in which further reaction to a conversion of at least 99% is carried out in the presence of an esterification catalyst at a temperature below 100.degree. • Patent number: 5336517
Abstract: Air-classification of flours with a particle size of 5-160 .mu.m is best performed on flours that are remilled at least once to give a remilled flour with an x-50 of less than 40 .mu.m.The remilling, preferably being carried out by using a jet air mill, a Retsch mill or an extruder. In this way a higher yield of a fraction, enriched in protein (up to 40% protein) and a higher yield of a starch fraction with a low protein content (even less than 3 wt %) can be obtained. Wetting of the remilled flour, prior to remilling and drying of the remilled flour, prior to air classification lead to improved results.

  • Patent number: 5334581
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for incorporating a perfume into a personal product, wherein the perfume is first combined with one or more non-ionic emulsifiers and an aqueous phase to form a structured emulsion containing liquid crystal structures, which surround the dispersed perfume, and thereafter this structured emulsion is dispersed into a personal product base. The invention also concerns the personal products thus obtained and the structured emulsions used in the process. The structured emulsions comprise 1-30 % by weight of one or more non-ionic emulsifiers, 1-50% by weight of a perfume and 20-98% by weight of an aqueous phase.
