  • Patent number: 4044450
Abstract: An apparatus and method for securing a tape loop hanger at the gathered end of a stuffed or unstuffed casing using a substantially U-shaped clip. Specifically the U-shaped clip forces a preformed tape loop hanger into contact with a gathered end portion of a casing whereupon the two opposed legs of the clip are deformed to encircle the gathered casing and the tape loop hanger with sufficient pressure so as to crimp and anchor the tape loop hanger between the legs of the clip so as to secure the tape loop hanger to the gathered end of the casing.

  • Patent number: 4041599
Abstract: A method of accurately centering and securely bonding a rod in a tubular shaft. Concentric alignment of the rod in the shaft is assured by positioning two resilient sealing rings between the rod and the shaft which act to center and hold the rod in proper geometric relationship with the shaft. While the invention is generally useful wherever secure bonding of a male fitting in a tubular shaft is desired, it is particularly applicable where accurate centering of the fitting in the shaft is necessary, such as in the bonding of a universal joint fitting in a drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4041969
Abstract: An elongated hollow tube containing a freely movable ball is used to indicate and vary the ratio between gases to be mixed by passing each gas into a separate end of the tube. A critical pressure relationship is established between the applied gases at any given location relative to each oppposite end of the tube and between the gas pressures at such locations and the pressure on each side of the ball respectively. This relationship is established using pressure regulators on each side of the tube with at least one restricting orifice in one gas line.

  • Patent number: 4042225
Abstract: A gas actuated starting rod feed device for use with hand holdable oxygen cutting and/or scarfing torches. The starting rod feed device includes means for gripping and advancing a starting rod. The gripping means is operated in response to the stroke of a piston-like member which is actuated by a pulse of oxygen diverted from the main oxygen stream. The oxygen gas is vented to atmosphere at the end of the piston stroke so that the starting rod feed device is automatically reset and so that there is no pressurized oxygen present during the cutting or scarfing operation in the vicinity of the flame issuing from the torch.
