Abstract: A wave soldering apparatus includes: two parallel tracks; a soldering bath defining a wave soldering region between the tracks for soldering circuit boards passing therethrough; a conveying unit including two belts that are movably and respectively mounted on the tracks, and a plurality of clamping members mounted on the belts; and two adjusting mechanisms, each of which is mounted on a respective one of the tracks and each of which includes a pressing plate that is disposed at a top side of the wave soldering region and that is adjustable in height relative to the tracks so as to press downwardly against the clamping members that are under the pressing plate.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a first bracket and a second bracket detachably receivable in the first bracket for holding a hard disk drive therein. The first bracket has a first coupling portion with a block, and a second coupling portion with a groove. The second bracket has a third coupling portion with a slot detachably receivable with the block of the first bracket, and a fourth coupling portion with a pivotable positioning rod member detachably engageable into the groove of the first bracket. Disengaging the slot and the pivotable positioning rod of the second bracket from the block and the groove of the first bracket allows dismounting of the second bracket from the first bracket without using any tools.

Abstract: A removable hard disk device includes a handle, a first holder, a hard disk drive located between the handle and the first holder, and two second holders pivotally connected to the handle and detachably connected to the first holder and the hard disk drive respectively for firmly holding the hard disk drive between the handle and the first holder. When the second holders are forced to pivotally move outwardly relative to each other, the second holders will be separated from the first holder and the handle such that the hard disk drive can be dismounted from the first holder without using any tool.

Abstract: A guard fence for use in a drop test includes a frame defining a test area, four support legs respectively connected to the frame for supporting the frame, and four buffer curtains made of elastic materials and respectively disposed between two adjacent support legs for encircling the test area. As a result, when a drop test is conducted, the buffer curtains can effectively prevent the test sample from an undesired impact.

Abstract: A detecting device for detecting barriers behind a door includes a sensor for transmitting detecting signals to detect whether there is a barrier behind the door, an identifier for transmitting identification signals to identify whether the barrier behind the door is a living animal, and an alarm electrically connected with the sensor and the identifier for generating an inductive signal according to a detecting result of the sensor or an identification result of the identifier. As a result, the detecting device can detect whether there is any barrier behind the door and whether the barrier is a living animal through the detecting signals of the sensor and the identification signals of the identifier. If a barrier is behind the door, the alarm will generate a warning signal to notify the person who is going to open the door such that the person can carefully open the door.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing having a side surface formed with a receiving groove, a driving electrode layer mounted fixedly in the receiving groove and including a plurality of electrodes, a control module disposed in the housing, connected electrically to the driving electrode layer, and operable so as to apply respectively a plurality of driving voltages corresponding to digital image information to the electrodes of the driving electrode layer, and a sheet of electronic paper disposed removably in the receiving groove in the housing and over the driving electrode layer for displaying the digital image information thereon in response to application of the driving voltages by the control module.

Abstract: A portable electronic device includes: a printed circuit board having opposite first and second surfaces and provided with at least one electronic component, the first surface being provided with at least one conductive pad that is electrically coupled to the electronic component; and a flexible circuit board having a main part stacked on the second surface of the printed circuit board, and an extension part extending and folded from the main part and stacked on the first surface of the printed circuit board. The extension part is provided with at least one conductive bump thereon. An outer surface of the main part is provided with at least one input key that is electrically coupled to the conductive bump. The conductive pad is bonded to the conductive bump.

Abstract: A signal converter includes an interconnect interface, a FIFO set, which comprises a transmitter FIFO and a receiver FIFO respectively connected to the interconnect interface through a data bus, a parallel/serial converter connected to the transmitter FIFO and the receiver FIFO by two data buses respectively and kept apart from the FIFO set, and a serial I/O interface connected to the parallel/serial converter.

Abstract: A retaining structure for holding one or more electronic devices inside a point of sale system terminal includes a support housing having a back plate, two side plates connected with two opposite sides of the back plate, at least two first positioning portions formed on the back plate, and a support plate mounted on the back plate and having at least one protrusion, and a retaining member having at least two second positioning portions detachably coupled to the first positioning portions of the support housing, and at least one groove engaged with the protrusion of the support plate for holding the electronic device between the support housing and the retaining member without using any tool.

Abstract: A method of checking train tickets includes the steps of a) detecting authorization data stored in a ticket held by a passenger in a train station and identifiable by an RFID technology by first ticket detecting devices and sending the detected authorization data to a mainframe, b) detecting the authorization data of the ticket held by the passenger on the way of a train by at least one second ticket detecting device to check whether the authorization data detected is feasible for the passenger to take the train and sending the detected result to the mainframe, and c) detecting the authorization data of the ticket held by the passenger after the passenger gets off the train by third ticket detecting devices installed in a train station to determine whether the passenger intending to exit the train station needs to pay an excess train fare.

Abstract: A friction hinge includes a rotary unit, an expansion barrel, and an electrical heating component. The rotary unit includes a barrel contacting component. The expansion barrel has a thermal expansion coefficient larger than that of the barrel contacting component, and is shrink fitted on the barrel contacting component such that a friction force is present between the barrel contacting component and the expansion barrel. The electrical heating component is for applying heat to the expansion barrel that is sufficient to cause thermal expansion of the expansion barrel.

Abstract: A handheld electronic device includes: a housing which has complementary first and second housing parts, and one corner formed with a key access hole; a screen mounted to the housing; and a multi-directional key unit which includes a circuit board mounted in the housing, a micro stick switch mounted on the circuit board and connected electrically thereto, and an operating control key coupled to the micro stick switch and disposed in the key access hole. The operating control key has outer dimensions smaller than dimensions of the key access hole so as to permit movement of the operating control key in multiple directions in the key access hole.

Abstract: A method for forming solder bodies on a substrate includes: positioning a first mask plate, which is formed with at least one first through-hole, on the substrate; filling the first through-hole with a first solder paste so as to form a first solder body on the substrate; positioning a second mask plate, which is formed with at least one second through-hole and at least one recess spaced apart from the second through-hole, on the substrate in such a manner that the first solder body is received in the recess; and filling the second through-hole with a second solder paste so as to form a second solder body on the substrate.

Abstract: A power supply switch circuit with current leakage protection is used in an electronic device, and is able to prevent the erroneous actions caused by a leakage current in high-temperature environments. The power supply switch circuit comprises a transistor having an emitter, a base and a collector, a field effect transistor having a drain, a source and a gate, and at least two series-connected diodes. The emitter is connected to a voltage source. The collector is connected to a load via a forward biased diode. The drain receives a trigger signal. The source is connected a reference terminal via at least two series-connected diodes. The gate is connected to the collector via a second resistor. One terminal of a third resistor is connected to the gate, and the other terminal is connected to the reference terminal.

Abstract: An optical alignment method is for a light-emitting module that includes a housing unit, a light-emitting unit disposed in the housing unit, and a lens unit. The optical alignment method includes: (a) through image-capturing techniques, finding a light-emitting point of the light-emitting unit and a predetermined reference point, and determining a total optical path length between the light-emitting point and an imaging plane; (b) finding a first center line that divides the total optical path length in half; (c) through image-capturing techniques, finding opposite first and second edges of the lens unit, and determining a lens length between the first and second edges; (d) finding a second center line that divides the lens length in half; and (e) assembling the lens unit to the housing unit so that the first and second center lines overlap. A light-emitting module and an assembly method therefor are also disclosed.

Abstract: A shaft structure of a liftable screen cover includes a screen cover, a cover reinforcement plate and a shaft set. The side of the screen cover is formed with a bent sidewall. One end of the sidewall has a non-circular first hole. The cover reinforcement plate disposes inside the sidewall. One end of the cover reinforcement plate has a non-circular second hole. A fulcrum is formed between the sidewall of the screen cover and the cover reinforcement plate and connected in a male-and-female engagement. As a result, the fulcrum of the shaft can be greatly elongated. One end of the shaft center of the shaft set has a non-circular flange. The flange penetrates into the second hole and the first hole. Screws are used to fix the screen cover, the cover reinforcement plate and the shaft set. With the above arrangement, a structure has good rigidity and bears larger torsion.

Abstract: The invention provides a power switching apparatus used in a network equipment in order to switch power generated by the Ethernet and an D.C. power supply. The power switching apparatus comprises a first input port used to connect to a first power terminal; a second input port used to connect to a second power terminal; an output port used to output a voltage; a switching circuit connected to the first input port, the second input port and the output port, wherein the switching circuit cuts off the output voltage generated by the first power terminal and outputs the voltage generated by the second power terminal while the second power terminal is plugged into the second input port.

Abstract: A testing machine includes a main mechanism, an auxiliary unit, and a control unit. The auxiliary unit has at least one holding arm mounted pivotally on the main mechanism, and at least one suction member attached to the holding arm and adapted to hold releasably an object. The control unit is provided to control the suction member to change between a suctioning condition to suck the object and a non-suctioning condition to permit the object to drop from the suction member.
