Abstract: Methods and device are disclosed for data retrieval. At first images and reports are analyzed by respective parser units to detect both structures and text passages that are related to respective structures and text passages of a knowledge database. The detected structures and text passages are stored together with a unique resource located that identifies the respective structure and/or text passage at the knowledge database in a semantic annotation database. In addition a feature extraction can be performed to provide specific features of the images and/or regions of the images, whereby the features are stored in an image feature database. Finally an input query can ask questions that are used to provide a result to the query based on the semantic annotation database and the image feature database. The methods and devices may be used for data preparation and data retrieval of medical images and associated medical reports.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for the objective measurement of ocular accommodation. A double-pass ophthalmoscopic system is used which incorporates a periscope allowing the patient to binocularly see real objects in an open field and images of the retinal plane to be recorded on a CCD camera. The method includes obtaining, for different values of accommodation stimulation, a set of retinal images corresponding to different focal values in the retina, obtaining the different focal positions in the retina by moving the two lenses incorporated in the ophthalmoscopic system. The image with the best optical quality is obtained for each set of images and by associating the selected image with the known value of the accommodation stimulation it is possible to objectively measure the accommodation.

Abstract: An electronic unit is produced including at least one electronic component at least partially embedded in an insulating material. A film assembly is provided with at least one conductive layer and a carrier layer. The conductive layer includes openings in the form of holes for receiving bumps, which are connected to contact surfaces of the at least one electronic component. The at least one component is placed on the film assembly such that the bumps engage with the openings of the conductive layer. The at least one component is partially embedded from the side opposite of the bumps into a dielectric layer. The carrier layer of the film assembly is removed such that the surface of the bumps is exposed. A metallization layer is then deposited on the side of the remaining conductive layer having the exposed bumps and so as to produce conductor tracks that overlap with the bumps.
