    Abstract: A process for producing xylenes, in particular para-xylene that is less energy intensive than conventional processes is provided. In an embodiment the process comprises contacting a feed mixture in an isomerization zone with a catalyst at isomerization conditions and producing an isomerized product comprising a higher proportion of p-xylene than in the feed mixture, wherein the catalyst comprises an acidic sulfonated catalytic membrane. Xylene isomerization can also be coupled with a p-xylene extraction process, where the raffinate (p-xylene deprived stream) from the extraction process is fed to an isomerization reactor to produce p-xylene.

After the power supply device is conducted by an electric power, a high voltage power is generated to excite the electrode coils to form plasma, and the plasma is used to destroy polymorphic bacteria and microorganisms, so that the sterilization module can eliminate the bacteria on the surface of the handrail of the escalator and provide a deodorant effect.

In particular, the contactless detection method treats the physiological signal cooperated with the physical activity signal to separate a noise from the physiological signal, so as to generate an ideal physiological signal. Therefore, the physiological information is calculated more accurately according to the ideal physiological signal.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a method for the fabrication of GaN-based vertical cavity surface-emitting devices featuring a silicon-diffusion defined current blocking layer (CBL). Such devices include vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) and resonant-cavity light-emitting diode (RCLED). The silicon-diffused P-type GaN region can be converted into N-type GaN and thereby attaining a current blocking effect under reverse bias. And the surface of the silicon-diffused area is flat so the thickness of subsequent optical coating is uniform across the emitting aperture. Thus, this method effectively reduces the optical-mode field diameter of the device, significantly decreases the spectral width of LED, and produces single-mode emission of VCSEL.
