Abstract: An electrochromic polymer having formula (1), a method for fabricating the same, and a component comprising the same are disclosed. A device fabricated from the electrochromic polymer is capable of varying between purple and transparent and has advantages of easy fabrication, wide viewing angle, rich colors, high contrast, low driving voltage, and reduced response time. The device can realize storage without power consumption, and can be applied to the field of electrochromic display device.

Abstract: Various examples of methods and systems are provided for direct closed-form finite alphabet constant-envelope waveforms for planar array beampatterns. Abstract: An infrared vision sensing detection method and device for narrow-gap weld seam deviation are provided. The device includes a shaking (or rotating) arc narrow-gap welding torch, an arc current sensor, a computer image processing system, and an infrared photographing system. The infrared photographing system includes an infrared camera which acquires an infrared image of a welding region in an external triggering manner when an arc shakes (or rotates) to a position closest to the left side wall or right side wall of a groove. After computer image processing, a welding wire position and a groove edge information is extracted in real time, and a weld seam deviation is calculated according to position changes of a welding wire relative to the left side wall and the right side wall of the groove, and the weld seam deviation is output.

Abstract: An integrated forward osmosis-membrane distillation (FO-MD) module and systems and methods incorporating the module is disclosed providing higher efficiencies and using less energy. The FO-MD module is osmotically and thermally isolated. The isolation can prevent mixing of FO draw solution/FO permeate and MD feed, and minimize dilution of FO draw solution and cooling of MD feed. The module provides MD feed solution and FO draw solution streams that flow in the same module but are separated by an isolation barrier. The osmotically and thermally isolated FO-MD integrated module, systems and methods offer higher driving forces of both FO and MD processes, higher recovery, and wider application than previously proposed hybrid FO-MD systems.

Abstract: An electrical and thermal conductive paste composition includes a wetting agent that is arranged as a conduction promoter. Further, a method produces an electrical and thermal conductive paste composition by using a wetting agent as a conduction promoter or a conductivity promoter. The electrical and thermal conductivity of a conductive particle-filled polymer composite is enhanced by using the wetting agent. Capillary forces exerted by the wetting agent cause a particle-filled polymeric suspension to percolate at a decreased volume fraction into a highly conductive network and enhance the conductivity of the composite. Through a jamming gelation technique, the percolation threshold in the particle filled polymer composite is lowered to as low as 3 volume percent. As a result, the electrical and thermal conductivity of the composite is maintained at a significantly lower filler volume fraction with a reduction of particle filler content of up to 50 weight percent.

Abstract: A method comprising: providing at least one first composition comprising at least one conjugated polymer and at least one solvent, wet spinning the at least one first composition to form at least one first fiber material, hot-drawing the at least one fiber to form at least one second fiber material. In lead embodiments, high-performance poly(3,4-ethylenedioxy-thiophene)/poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT/PSS) conjugated polymer microfibers were fabricated via wet-spinning followed by hot-drawing. In these lead embodiments, due to the combined effects of the vertical hot-drawing process and doping/de-doping the microfibers with ethylene glycol (EG), a record electrical conductivity of 2804 S·cm?1 was achieved. This is believed to be a six-fold improvement over the best previously reported value for PEDOT/PSS fibers (467 S·cm?1) and a twofold improvement over the best values for conductive polymer films treated by EG de-doping (1418 S·cm?1).

Abstract: All-printed paper-based substrate memory devices are described. In an embodiment, a paper-based memory device is prepared by coating one or more areas of a paper substrate with a conductor material such as a carbon paste, to form a first electrode of a memory, depositing a layer of insulator material, such as titanium dioxide, over one or more areas of the conductor material, and depositing a layer of metal over one or more areas of the insulator material to form a second electrode of the memory. In an embodiment, the device can further include diodes printed between the insulator material and the second electrode, and the first electrode and the second electrodes can be formed as a crossbar structure to provide a WORM memory. The various layers and the diodes can be printed onto the paper substrate by, for example, an ink jet printer.
