Abstract: An asymmetric support structure of entry driven along gob-side (EDG) under unstable roof in deep mines and construction method thereof. The asymmetric support structure includes roadway roof support structure, a gob-side support structure and a solid coal seam-side support structure. The roadway roof support structure includes a reinforcing wire mesh, a W-section steel strap, high-strength pretensioned bolts, and cable bolts and matching steel straps. The gob-side support structure includes a reinforcing wire mesh, a W-section steel strap, high-strength pretensioned yielding bolts and grouting cable bolts and its matching steel straps. The solid coal seam-side support structure includes a reinforcing wire mesh, a reinforced beam and steel strap pallet subassembly, high-strength pretensioned yielding bolts and cable bolts and its matching steel straps.

Abstract: A protein assay method, including: 1) dissolving 4-hydroxybenzenesulfonic acid in an ethanol, methanol, or acetonitrile aqueous solution to prepare a hydrolysis reagent, adding a protein sample and the hydrolysis reagent to a hydrolysis tube, and uniformly mixing the protein sample and the hydrolysis reagent, charging argon or nitrogen into the hydrolysis tube to remove dissolved oxygen, sealing and drying the hydrolysis tube, and hydrolyzing the protein sample; 2) cooling the hydrolysis tube to room temperature, filtering and adding a resulting hydrolysate to a volumetric flask, washing the hydrolysis tube and a filter paper, collecting and adding a resulting washing solution to the volumetric flask to a constant volume; 3) drawing a hydrolysate solution from the volumetric flask, completely drying the hydrolysate solution to yield a solid product; and 4) diluting the solid product using a diluent, and analyzing amino acids of the solid product.

Abstract: A method includes: sensing a portion of a human body to generate a series of image frames by an optical sensing element; determining a complexion region from each of the image frames; then calculating a central coordinate of the complexion region; determining a sample block by expanding a surrounding range from the central coordinate, for getting a complexion fluctuation waveform; comparing the central coordinate with a central coordinate of a later image frame, to calculate a displacement in a unit time for determining whether the portion of the human body is in a static state. In the static state, an operating unit performs noise filter and peak detecting for complexion fluctuation waveform, and calculates a physiological signal. The method can reduce the amount of data required to be processed in physiological signal detection, and improve the accuracy of the detection.

Abstract: The present invention introduces a new concept of applying a parallel mechanism in automated fiber placement for aerospace part manufacturing. The proposed system requirements are 4DOF parallel mechanism consisting of two RPS and two UPS limbs with two rotational and two translational motions. Both inverse and forward kinematics models are obtained and solved analytically. Based on the overall Jacobian matrix in screw theory, singularity loci are presented and the singularity-free workspace is correspondingly illustrated. To maximize the singularity-free workspace, locations of the two UPS limbs with the platform and base sizes are used in the optimization which gives a new design of a 4DOF parallel mechanism. A dimensionless Jacobian matrix is also defined and its condition number is used for optimizing the kinematics performance in the optimization process. A numerical example is presented with physical constraint considerations of a test bed design for automated fiber placement.

Abstract: A dual rotor axis wind turbine that converts renewable energy into electrical energy. The dual rotor wind turbine addresses the counter productivity problem found in dual rotors wind turbines, which occurs due to adverse effects to the downwind rotor due to lying in the wake of the upwind rotor.
