Abstract: A zinc oxide nanocomposition is modified with a homobifunctional imidoester compound and an antibiotic composition contains the zinc oxide nanocomposition as an active ingredient. Also, a combination preparation contains the zinc oxide nanocomposite and an antifungal agent. The zinc oxide nanocomposite provides an antibiotic composition which is less toxic while exhibiting excellent antibiotic activity, for example, antiviral, antibacterial or antifungal activity. The antibiotic composition is usable to prevent contamination or infection by viruses, bacteria or fungi, inhibit the growth of viruses, bacteria or fungi, or treat infections by viruses, bacteria or fungi.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a simple method for generation of high-throughput aerosols of monodisperse micro-shell particles. To create the aerosol, small nozzles are employed blowing slightly compressed air on a thin liquid film. This allows one to generate bubble aerosols consisting of particles having a thin liquid shell surrounding a gas core, which are suspended in a carrier gas flow or environment. The diameter of the created liquid shells is uniform and scales with the inner diameter of the blowing nozzle, enabling control on the size of the produced monodispersed aerosol and formation of particles between few microns to several hundred of microns in outer diameter. The process throughput is very high, reaching several thousands of particles with liquid micro-shells per second for one blowing nozzle.
Abstract: Non-human animal compression therapy devices and methods. In some embodiments, the compression therapy devices includes one or more sleeves, each of the one or more sleeves being configured to fit a limb of a non-human animal, and each of the one or more sleeves comprising one or more inflatable chambers; and a controllable air source operably connected with the one or more inflatable chambers and configured to controllably inflate and deflate the one or more inflatable chambers. In some embodiments, at least one cycle of inflating and deflating of the one or more chambers starts by inflating the most distal chamber. In some embodiments, the compression therapy is given to eliminate or ease suffering from a disease or disorder or a sporting or work-related injury.

Abstract: Safety certification of cyber-physical system (CPS) such as autonomous cars or medical control systems are complicated especially due to the lack of transparency between the manufacturer and certifying authority. The manufacturer has significant restrictions in sharing knowledge with the certification authority. Further, given time constraints, it may not be feasible for the certification authority to examine internal details of the CPS. A system models the safety certification of CPS as an agile iterative game, where a manufacturer agent acting on behalf of the manufacturer and a certifier agent acting on behalf of a third-party certification entity aims to find an optimal subset of operating data to share for accurate safety certification. The certification agent, armed with CPS model mining methods and safety assessment analysis tools, aims to accurately assess safety of the CPS with the information shared.
