Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive radar data including a radar pixel having a radial velocity from a radar; receive camera data including an image frame including camera pixels from a camera; map the radar pixel to the image frame; generate a region of the image frame surrounding the radar pixel; determine association scores for the respective camera pixels in the region; select a first camera pixel of the camera pixels from the region, the first camera pixel having a greatest association score of the association scores; and calculate a full velocity of the radar pixel using the radial velocity of the radar pixel and a first optical flow at the first camera pixel. The association scores indicate a likelihood that the respective camera pixels correspond to a same point in an environment as the radar pixel.

Abstract: A concentric tube steerable device includes a plurality of tubes having a nested, concentric configuration. The tubes include an outer tube and an inner tube that extends coaxially within the outer tube. The inner tube terminates at a tip, and a pose of the tip is effectuated through individual or collective rotation or translation of the tubes about a tube axis. The concentric tube steerable device includes an actuator for rotating at least one tube about a respective tube axis, and a translator for translating at least one tube along a respective tube axis. Each tube includes a precurved portion and a corresponding axis of precurvature. For at least one tube, a flexural rigidity of the tube along its axis of precurvature is less than a flexural rigidity of the tube along a second axis that is perpendicular to the axis of precurvature, thereby improving stability of the tube.

Abstract: Complexities arising from interaction between multiple inter-connected components in an autonomous cyber physical system can potentially result in differences in intended and observed operations of a CPS. To perform fault analysis of a CPS it is imperative to explain this discrepancy in terms of the components of CPS control code. A system estimates a “mined” hybrid system representation of a CPS based on observed input/output traces and extracts a state machine representation of the CPS control code. The system compares the “mined” hybrid system representation with the extracted state machine representation simplification of the CPS code to identify discrepancies between expected and observed operation of the CPS. The system explains discrepancies in terms of call conditions as binary or unary operations on input and output variables and status of function call arguments.

  • Publication number: 20230028572
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a simple method for generation of high-throughput aerosols of monodisperse micro-shell particles. To create the aerosol, small nozzles are employed blowing slightly compressed air on a thin liquid film. This allows one to generate bubble aerosols consisting of particles having a thin liquid shell surrounding a gas core, which are suspended in a carrier gas flow or environment. The diameter of the created liquid shells is uniform and scales with the inner diameter of the blowing nozzle, enabling control on the size of the produced monodispersed aerosol and formation of particles between few microns to several hundred of microns in outer diameter. The process throughput is very high, reaching several thousands of particles with liquid micro-shells per second for one blowing nozzle.
