Abstract: Devices (dot blot boxes) for use in immunoblotting are described. The dot blot boxes can include a series of hooks, clips or the like on opposite sides of a container for retaining a test strip there between. The dot blot boxes can be sized to retain a plurality of test strips generally parallel to one another such that they do not contact one another and do not contact the base of the container. A container can hold a fluid, e.g., a blocking buffer solution or antibody solution, and the test strips can be submerged in the fluid while retained in the container.

Abstract: A test apparatus used for simulating debonding between a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) and concrete in a CFRP-strengthened structure consists of a primary structural block, a secondary structural block, an adjustable hanger, a receiving slot, an attachment mechanism, a pull-off disk, a connecting plate having a plurality of rods. The adjustable hanger and the secondary structural block are slidably positioned into the receiving slot that traverses into a structural body of the primary structural block. The adjustable hanger is mainly used during double-shearing tests and mixed-mode tests, wherein both shearing and peeling is analyzed in mixed-mode tests. The secondary structural block is used in double-shear tests, mixed-mode tests, single-shear tests, tension pull-off tests, and beam-bend tests. The attachment mechanism, which holds the primary structural block, the secondary structural block, and the adjustable hanger together, is also used during single-shear tests and beam-bend tests.

Abstract: A method of magnetic resonance imaging acquires undersampled MRI data and generates by an adversarially trained generative neural network MRI data having higher quality without using any fully-sampled data as a ground truth. The generative neural network is adversarially trained using a discriminative neural network that distinguishes between undersampled MRI training data and candidate undersampled MRI training data produced by applying an MRI measurement function containing an undersampling mask to generated MRI training data produced by the generative neural network from the undersampled MRI training data.

Abstract: Single-shot, adaptive metrology of rotationally variant optical surfaces, such as toroids, off-axis conies and freeform surfaces. An adaptive interferometric null test uses a high definition liquid crystal phase-only spatial light modulator (SLM) as the reconfigurable null element, on which a simulated nulling phase function is encoded, based on the specifications of the surface under test to generate a null interferogram. The power component of the surface sag is nulled by system design, not the SLM, enabling the SLM to fully compensate the residual departure without the need to tilt the optic or use a custom Offner-null. By wrapping the phase function at multiples of 2*pi radian, the upper limit in sag of the optic under test is theoretically removed.
Abstract: An example device for repairing a tissue is described herein. The device can include a flexible carrier layer, and a support member including a plurality of micro-protrusions extending therefrom. The support member can be at least partially integrated with the flexible carrier layer. Additionally, the flexible carrier layer can be configured to cover at least a portion of the tissue, and the micro-protrusions can be configured to mechanically interface with the tissue.

Abstract: A hyper-precise positioning and communications (HPPC) system and network are provided. The HPPC system is a next-generation positioning technology that promises a low-cost, high-performance solution to the need for more sophisticated positioning technologies in increasingly cluttered environments. The HPPC system is a joint positioning-communications radio technology that simultaneously performs relative positioning and secure communications. Both of these tasks are performed with a single, co-use waveform, which efficiently utilizes limited resources and supports higher user densities. Aspects of this disclosure include an HPPC system for a network which includes an arbitrary number of network nodes (e.g., radio frequency (RF) devices communicating over a joint positions-communications waveform). As such, networking protocols and design of data link and physical layers are described herein.

Abstract: In response to a detected presence of an intended target appliance within a logical topography of controllable appliances identity information associated with the intended target appliance is used to automatically add to a graphical user interface of a controlling device an icon representative of the intended target appliance and to create at a Universal Control Engine a listing of communication methods for use in controlling corresponding functional operations of the intended target appliance. When the icon is later activated, the controlling device is placed into an operating state appropriate for controlling functional operations of the intended target appliance while the Universal Control Engine uses at least one of the communication methods to transmit at least one command to place the intended target appliance into a predetermined operating state.
Abstract: A method for real-time assessment of image information employing a computer that includes one or more processors includes obtaining, via a scanner, a magnetic resonance (MR) image of a region-of-interest, and providing data corresponding to at least a portion of the MR image to a deep learning model, where the deep learning model is previously trained based on one or more sets of training data. The method further includes assessing the data using the deep learning model and data obtained from an image quality database to obtain an assessed image quality value, and formulating an image quality classification in response to the assessed image quality value.
