Abstract: Systems and methods including bonding two or more separately formed circuit layers are provided using, for example, cold welding techniques. Processing techniques may be provided for combining inorganic and/or organic semiconductor devices in apparatus including, for example, microchips, optoelectronic devices, such as solar cells, photodetectors and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), and other apparatus with multi-layer circuitry. Methods of bonding preformed circuit layers may include the use of stamping and pressure bonding contacts of two or more circuit layers together. Such methods may find applicability, for example, in bonding circuitry to shaped substrates, including various rounded and irregular shapes, and may be used to combine devices with different structural properties, e.g. from different materials systems.

Abstract: A leg support exoskeleton is strapped on as a wearable device to support its user during squatting and/or lunging. The exoskeleton includes a knee joint connected to a first link and a second link, which is configured to allow flexion and extension motion between the first link and the second link. A force generator has a first end that is rotatable connected to the first link. A constraining mechanism is connected to the second link and has at least two operational positions. In a first operational position, the second end of the force generator engages the constraining mechanism, where the first link and the second link flex relative to each other. In a second operational position, the second end of the force generator does not engage the constraining mechanism; the first link and the second link are free to flex and extend relative to each other.

Abstract: A neural network based learning system for designing a circuit, the design system including at least one memory, at least one processor in communication with said at least one memory, said at least one processor configured to generate a mathematical model of the circuit, determine a structural definition of the circuit from the mathematical model, define a mapping of a plurality of components of the circuit to a plurality of neurons representing the plurality of components of the circuit using at least the structural definition, synthesize, on a hardware substrate, the plurality of neurons, and execute, using the synthesized plurality of neurons on the hardware substrate, at least one test using at least one optimization constraint to determine an optimal arrangement of the plurality of components.
Abstract: An AUC-maximized high-accuracy classification method and system for imbalanced datasets integrates an under-sampling-and-ensemble strategy, a true-outliers-removing strategy and a fake-outliers-concealing strategy, with the hope to effectively and robustly enhance both the AUC and the accuracy metrics in imbalanced classification. Applying under-sampling to construct multiple sub-datasets and assembling classification results of multiple classifiers greatly decline the risk of misclassification and lead to highly accurate and robust results in imbalanced classification task. Moreover, this invention pays attention to detect and identify extremely hidden outliers in a sub-dataset which includes a sub-majority dataset and the entire minority dataset. In this way, more hidden outliers can be located and thus exert less influence on the decision boundary, which contributes to both high AUC and accuracy.

Abstract: Devices and methods for the removal of bone implant tips from within a bony structure in a body. The device or method includes a shaft with an internal grasping feature capable of being inserted while remaining in an un-expanded, un-deployed state. This permits a surgeon or operator to insert the device while in a small profile state, avoiding or reducing damage to adjacent bone tissue during insertion. Upon insertion of the shaft to the proper position within a patient's bone, the grasping feature may then be expanded or deployed from the distal end of the shaft by a surgeon or operator using an actuator in a handle attached to the proximal end of the shaft. Following deployment, the grasping feature may be used to manipulate and/or remove a bone implant tip from a patient's bone tissue. Embodiments of the grasping feature include one or more hooks, wires, articulating fingers, and/or net-based designs formed of metal, polymer, composite, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technical field of health monitoring for civil structures, and a performance alarming method for bridge expansion joints based on temperature displacement relationship model is proposed. First, the canonically correlated temperature is proposed to maximize the correlation between bridge temperature field and expansion joint displacement; second, a temperature displacement relationship model for bridge expansion joints is established based on canonically correlated temperatures; then, a mean-value control chart is constructed to the error of temperature displacement relationship model; finally, reasonable control limits are determined for the mean-value control chart. A more accurate temperature displacement relationship model can be established based on canonically correlated temperatures, which is of important value to improve the performance alarming ability for expansion joint.

Abstract: Improved cross-calibration between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coordinates and optical tracking coordinates is provided. Initial calibration is performed with a calibration tool that includes wireless active markers that can be tracked using the MRI scanner, and an optical marker that can be tracked using the optical tracking system. Data from one or more poses of this tool are used to provide an initial cross-calibration. In use, this initial calibration is corrected to account for differences between actual camera position and the reference location. Here the reference location is the camera location at which the initial calibration was performed.
