Abstract: Flavonoid compounds may be prepared that are selective for certain cell organelles, and may be used as biological imaging agents. Organelles that may be imaged with flavonoid compounds include mitochondria and lysosomes. Advantageously, the flavonoids show specificity to certain organelles and may exhibit a florescence “turn-on” mechanism, where the flavonoids that have target an organelle exhibit a florescence response when excited.
Abstract: Provided in the present invention are an olefin polymerization apparatus and an olefin polymerization process. The following operations and effects can be realized by the apparatus or method provided in the present invention: the gas material discharged from the polymerization reactor is condensed, after the gas-liquid separation, the resulting gas portion is recycled to the reactor to form a circulation loop; the condensate can be selectively introduced to the polymerization reactor, in order to achieve the free switch between the homopolymerization reaction and the copolymerization reaction or between different copolymerization reactions, and at the same time the condensate can absorb the heat generated by the reaction. By using the apparatus and method provided in the present invention, polyolefin products having excellent mechanical properties and processability can be prepared as needed.

Abstract: Various examples are provided that are related to fractal-based reactive impedance surfaces. These surfaces allow for miniaturization of antennas. In one example, a fractal rectangular reactive impedance surface (FR-RIS) includes a plurality of fractal rectangular (FR) patches having an outer edge defined by a fractal rectangular pattern that is repeated along each side of inner FR patches of the plurality of FR patches. The fractal rectangular pattern of a FR patch matches with the fractal rectangular pattern of an adjacent FR patch. An antenna can include a planar antenna disposed over the FR-RIS.

Abstract: A method of differentiating pluripotent stem cells into mesenchymal stem cells, a culture medium used in the method of differentiating pluripotent stem cells into mesenchymal stem cells and a method of performing tissue and organ regeneration by using the mesenchymal stem cells obtained by differentiation using the method of differentiating pluripotent stem cells into mesenchymal stem cells are provided. The method of differentiating pluripotent stem cells into mesenchymal stem cells comprises differentiating, completely under 3D suspension conditions, pluripotent stem cells into trophoblast-like cells using BMP4 and A8301, and then differentiating the trophoblast-like cells into mesenchymal stem cells. Neither of two differentiation processes needs passaging or replacement of a culture container.
Abstract: A microfluidic chip suitable for detecting a microdroplet includes a first component, a second component, a channel layer, and a semiconductor chip. The first component includes a first substrate, a first electrode layer, and a first dielectric layer, wherein the first electrode layer is located between the first substrate and the first dielectric layer. The second component is disposed opposite to the first component and includes a second substrate, a second electrode layer, and a second dielectric layer. The channel layer is located between the first component and the second component. The semiconductor chip is disposed at one side of the first substrate and is exposed to the channel layer to assist in treating or detecting a sample or microdroplet. The microdroplet in the sample entering the channel layer is reacted with the semiconductor chip, and thus the sample is detected.
