Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a method of detecting a nucleic acid binding protein and a method of screening for a binding inhibitor or promoter for a nucleic acid binding protein. According to the present invention, there is provided a method of detecting binding between a nucleic acid and a nucleic acid binding protein, comprising determining the degree of structural change in a nucleic acid complex having at least two nucleic acid duplex moieties.
Abstract: Disclosed are stem cells having a thin multilayer structure, a method of preparing the same, and use thereof for cytotherapy. In accordance with the present invention, stem cells with a thin multilayer structure having improved stability and controlled multifunctionality are provided. A method of preparing the stem cells having the thin multilayer structure according to the present invention is very simple, and thus, the stem cells having the thin multilayer structure can be produced at low cost and high efficiency. Therefore, the stem cells having the thin multilayer structure prepared according to the present invention are very useful as a stem cell therapy agent for treating various diseases.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for pretreating lignocellulose by using an acid-base mixture catalyst. Abstract: A composition of graphene oxide free-standing film, a method of making the film, and a method of using the film to shield electromagnetic radiation particularly at microwave frequencies from 1 GHz to 12 GHz. The composition comprises stacked layers of graphene oxide nanosheets oriented parallel to the film surface and stacked layers of graphene oxide nanosheets oriented perpendicular to the film surface. The method of making the composition includes forming graphene oxide by arc-discharge between graphite electrodes in the presence of oxygen gas to form a graphene oxide soot, suspending the graphene oxide soot in water to form a colloid, depositing the colloid onto a substrate to form a wet paper, and drying the wet paper to form the film. The method of using the composition to shield electromagnetic radiation includes enclosing and/or encapsulating an electromagnetic radiation generating source with the free-standing film to shield electromagnetic radiation.

Abstract: A rapid antibiotic susceptibility test (AST) based on the detection and quantification of the movement of single bacterial cells with a plasmonic imaging and tracking (PIT) technology. The PIT-based AST detects changes in the metabolic activity of the bacterial cells long before cell replication, and allows rapid AST for both cultivable and non-cultivable strains. PIT tracks 3D movement with sub-nanometer resolution and millisecond temporal resolution. PIT also allows simultaneous measurement of the binding kinetic constants of antibiotics and bacterial metabolic state after the introduction of antibiotics.
