Abstract: A controlling device interacts dynamically with a plurality of appliances using state information known to a master appliance. The master appliance conveys to the controlling device the state information and the controlling device uses the state information to dynamically configure itself to command functional operations of one or more of the plurality of appliances. The master appliance also causes a graphical representation of the current configuration of the controlling device to be displayed on a display device that is associated with the master appliance.

Abstract: Various embodiments relate to a method, apparatus, system, and a computer program product for suppressing an oscillatory signal Sosc. In the method a composite signal S comprising said Sosc and a modulating signal Smod are provided and the S is high pass filtered to produce estimates of the Sosc and the Smod, wherein the estimate of the Sosc comprises first oscillations during a first state of the modulating signal and second oscillations during a second state of the modulating signal. A first bin associated with said first state and a second bin associated with said second state are defined and assigned for said first oscillation and the second bin for said second oscillation according to a state defined from the estimate of the Smod. A first average waveform for said first oscillations and a second average waveform for said second oscillations are formed and used to suppress the Sosc signal from the composite signal S.

Abstract: The present invention provides biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of endometriosis. Generally, the methods of this invention find use in diagnosing or for providing a prognosis for endometriosis by detecting the expression levels of biomarkers, which are differentially expressed (up- or down-regulated) in endometrial cells from a patient with endometriosis. Similarly, these markers can be used to diagnose reduced fertility in a patient with endometriosis or to provide a prognosis for a fertility trial in a patient suffering from endometriosis. The present invention also provides methods of identifying a compound for treating or preventing endometriosis. Finally, the present invention provides kits for the diagnosis or prognosis of endometriosis.

Abstract: The likelihood of a disorder can be determined using a variety of techniques. One or more exhibited symptoms may be obtained for a patient. The likelihood that each symptom will be exhibited for the disorder can be computed, and a posterior probability of the disorder given the exhibited symptoms can be computed from the likelihood of the symptoms. Based on the resulting posterior probability of the disorder, a more accurate determination can be made of whether the patient is suffering from the disorder.
