Abstract: A hydrogen sulphide adsorbent is formed from an alkali metal nanotitanate having a portion of the alkali metal cations exchanged with metal cations reactive with hydrogen sulphide, and heat treated. A method for producing the adsorbent includes the steps of mixing an alkali metal nanotitanate in powder form into an aqueous metal cation solution to produce a slurry, which is subsequently dehydrated to produce a powder, which is heat treated. A low temperature method for removing hydrogen sulphide from a gaseous mixture involves exposing the gaseous mixture to the aforementioned adsorbent, at a temperature less than 250° C. The adsorbent maintains a high adsorption capacity over a range of activation temperatures and humidity conditions.

Abstract: A method for calibrating a laser measuring apparatus having a laser illumination unit and an image capturing unit includes the following steps. A calibration board having at least one slit gap and a plurality of markers is provided. The relative position between the calibration board and the laser illumination unit is adjusted to allow a slit laser beam emitted by the laser illumination unit to pass through the at least one slit. The calibration board is captured by the image capturing unit to generate a calibration board image. The calibration board image is processed so as to obtain a camera coordinate of each of the markers. A plurality of calibration parameters are calculated according to the camera coordinate and an actual coordinate of each of the markers so as to obtain actual coordinates of an object captured in an object image generated by the laser measuring apparatus.

Abstract: Hydroxy acid compound of substituted phenyl ester, preparation method and medical use thereof are provided. The title compound is shown in formula (I), Y?C1-4 straight carbon chain. The compound can release 2,6-diisopropylphenol rapidly under the action of enzymes in vivo, which has sedative, hypnotic and/or anesthetic effect. By protecting the hydroxyl group of 2, 6-diisopropylphenol in compound of formula (I), the first-pass metabolic activity of 2, 6-diisopropylphenol is reduced, so that the synthetic compound can be used for sedation, hypnosis, and/or anesthesia.
Abstract: A method of creating an image mosaic is provided. A plurality of image files is read at a computing device. The plurality of image files contains image data defining a plurality of overlapping images. A dual adjacency mesh for an image mosaic is defined based on an arrangement of the plurality of overlapping images. The dual adjacency mesh is defined as a plurality of nodes and edges that connect a pair of the plurality of nodes. A node is defined for each image of the plurality of overlapping images, and an edge is defined when an overlap exists between a pair of images of the plurality of overlapping images. The image mosaic is presented in a display of the computing device. The image mosaic is created from the plurality of overlapping images based on the defined dual adjacency mesh.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optically induced cell lysis biochip, which comprises: an upper substrate made of a transparent, electrically conductive material; a lower substrate made of a transparent, electrically conductive material; a photoconductive layer formed under the lower surface of the upper substrate or on the upper surface of the lower substrate; and a chamber formed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. When there is an electric potential difference between the upper and lower substrates, a light spot illuminated on the photoconductive layer can cause the impedance of the illuminated area to decrease, thereby causing the electric current to center on the illuminated area of the photoconductive layer. Further, the electric current flowing through the illuminated area can induce the cell lysis process of a target cell.
