  • Publication number: 20140056377
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for symbol mapping in wireless communication systems utilizing OFDM transmission technology in combination with advanced coding schemes. In the method according to the present invention, adapted for use in a wireless communication system utilising OFDM transmission technology, an OFDM grid is defined by at least a first dimension and a second dimensions from the dimensions time, frequency or space. The advanced coding scheme, for example Alamouti coding, outputs symbols that are related via the coding. At least some of the symbols, defining a code related symbol group should experience identical, or at least very similar, radio channels. According to one embodiment of the present invention, symbols from the same code related symbol group is placed as close together in the OFDM grid as possible.

  • Patent number: 8644462
Abstract: A unified messaging system which can provide messaging services for a plurality of different “message types” is disclosed. The unified messaging system can serve as a single interface to a number of messaging services provided by various messaging components which use different message types (e.g., mail server). A unified message type is implemented and presented to a user as an abstract message. In addition, the unified messaging system can automatically determine, based on a first selected feature, if one or more message types should be used. A particular message type can also be automatically selected as a “best message type” based on one or more selected options.

  • Patent number: 8644263
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement to enhance the communication performance in wireless communication systems. The method of the invention provides better adjustment of reported SINR in MIMO, and PARC-MIMO based communication systems. According to the method information relating to signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio is determined by the user equipment and reported to the base station. The base station adjust reported SINRs using a model of the SINR dependences of power and code allocation. The dependences is modeled by a function comprising a first parameter relating only to power allocation and a second parameter relating only to code allocation. The first parameter has a power allocation exponent and the second parameter has a code allocation exponent. Both the power allocation exponent and the code allocation exponent are data stream dependent.

  • Publication number: 20140029546
Abstract: Technology for method for reducing the number of unsuccessful service change attempts of a first mobile terminal is presented. The first mobile terminal is connectable via a mobile network to a further terminal by establishing a call connection for providing a first service or by establishing a call connection for providing a second service. The first mobile terminal receives a first indication signal indicating that a service change to the second service is temporarily unavailable from a mobile network node administrating an established call connection for providing the first service. In response to receiving the first indication signal, the first mobile terminal refrains from requesting a service change to the second service until reception of a further indication signal from the mobile network node indicating that a service change is available again.

  • Patent number: 8588774
Abstract: A technique for cell-identity detection is provided. In one method embodiment, at least one cell-identity in a cellular telecommunication network is determined. The method comprises the steps of receiving a synchronization signal, calculating first correlations and second correlations as well as determining the at least one cell-identity. The received synchronization signal includes a first partial signal and a second partial signal.
