  • Patent number: 9525370
Abstract: A method for controlling an alternator or alternator-starter of a motor vehicle, the electric machine being capable of providing an electric current, the strength of which varies on the basis of the excitation signal (EXC). A duty cycle is associated with each excitation signal. The method includes comparing the difference between the duty cycle values of two consecutive excitation signals at a predetermined threshold. If the difference is greater than the predetermined threshold, a gradual response phase is released, during which the duty cycle of the excitation signals is gradually increased, particularly in a substantially linear manner. At the start of the gradual response phase, the duty cycle of the consecutive excitation signals is increased by a predetermined jump (D,B), then the duty cycle is gradually increased. The duty cycle jump at the start of the gradual response phase being less than or equal to the release threshold of the gradual response phase.

  • Publication number: 20160141997
Abstract: The device according to the invention controls a polyphase inverter (10, 14, 17) intended for powering from a DC current source (CC) a polyphase rotating electric machine (1). The device is of the type of those generating commutation functions driving commutation elements (9, 13) of the inverter in such a way as to obtain a reduction of the losses in the commutation elements and a decrease of an effective current in a decoupling capacitor (16) of the source (CC). • Patent number: 9246426
Abstract: The method according to the invention involves limiting the charging of a vehicle alternator by only authorizing progressive augmentation of a current duty cycle (DC) of an excitation signal (7) of the alternator from an initial duty cycle to an expected duty cycle (EpsU) calculated by a control loop (1, 5, 6) of the alternator. According to the invention, a complementary limitation of the charging of the alternator involves limiting the increase of the current duty cycle (DC) according to at least one parameter of the heat engine involving an angular acceleration (mot) and/or a rotation speed (Nmot) of the heat motor. In particular, this complementary limitation can additionally involve limiting the increase of the current duty cycle (DC) according to a negative value of the angular acceleration (mot).

  • Patent number: 9225277
Abstract: A method for controlling a motor vehicle alternator, in which an error value, resulting from the comparison between the voltage produced by the alternator and a set value, is processed in a filtering means by applying a transfer function, which determines a gain to be associated with the error value on the basis of the rotational frequency of the alternator, in order to control the adjustment of the field current allowed by the alternator. The transfer function of the filtering means is modified on the basis of the rotational speed of the alternator by attenuating the gain over a given frequency range when the rotational speed decreases.
