Abstract: According to the method, the gases are circulated in a liquid/gas heat exchanger (2, 12) prior to their entering the internal combustion engine (58) and a high temperature liquid and/or a low temperature liquid is circulated in the liquid/gas heat exchanger (2, 12) in order to heat and/or cool the gases (84) as required. The liquid/gas heat exchanger may comprise a single stage or two stages, that is a high temperature stage and a low temperature stage. It can also be used to cool the recirculating exhaust gases prior to their entering the engine.
Abstract: A wiper device for wiping a vehicle windscreen, including a drivable wiper arm and a flat wiper blade arranged on the wiper arm. The flat wiper blade includes a wiper blade rubber, a support for supporting the wiper blade rubber, and a connection for connecting a free end of the wiper arm. The support is in the form of band-like elongate spring blades. The connection includes a support element fixedly arranged on the support and a connecting element that partially pivots the support element. The connecting element is releasably connected to the free end of the wiper arm.

Abstract: A device, and a valve including such a device, for converting a pivoting movement of a pinion into a translational movement of a slide. The pinion is mounted to pivot relative to a slide mounting member including a fixed tubular wall. Abstract: A driving assistance method for a motor vehicle is disclosed. It is characterised in that the method comprises the steps of detecting an obstacle located in proximity to the motor vehicle, calculating the slope of a road on which the motor vehicle is capable of travelling, determining, depending on the calculated slope of the road, a speed limit beyond which the motor vehicle will strike the obstacle, and if an obstacle is detected, automatically reducing the speed of the motor vehicle if this is greater than the speed limit.
Abstract: A proposed method to illuminate optimally, or at least in an improved fashion compared with existing solutions, a road taken by a vehicle in question implementing the method whilst ensuring that other vehicles are not dazzled. To this end, it is not proposed in the invention to detect the distance between the vehicle in question and the first vehicle liable to be dazzled by the vehicle in question, and to generate accordingly a light beam optimized in terms of range on the road, and advantageously light intensity; according to the invention, the optimization of the light beam produced is achieved by the use of the motorway function available on the vehicle in question. The use of this function in this context also ensures a gradual transition between the function of the dipped type and the function of the main-beam type in the context of automatic switching operations between these functions.

Abstract: A method and system for video-based road lane curvature measurement is provided. An image processing system receives roadway scene images from a vehicle-mounted video camera to measure road curvature. Road boundary indicators, such as lane markings, are used for identifying the road boundaries. The road curvature is approximated using a relation between the slope of a line connecting two points on a lane marking, and the average longitudinal distance from the camera to the line.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system which is used to cool at least one piece of motor vehicle equipment to a low temperature, comprising a heat transfer fluid circulation loop. According to the invention, a low-temperature heat exchanger (60) and at least one equipment exchanger (102) are mounted to the aforementioned circulation loop. The heat exchange surface of the equipment exchanger (102) is divided into at least first and second heat exchange sections (104, 106). A first flow (Q<SB>1</SB>) of heat-transfer fluid passes through the first heat exchange section (104), while a second smaller flow (Q2) passes through the second section. The invention is suitable for motor vehicle heat exchangers.

Abstract: A method and system for video-based road departure warning for a vehicle on a road, is provided. Road departure warning involves receiving an image of a road in front of the vehicle from a video imager, and detecting one or more road markings in the image corresponding to markings on the road. Then, analyzing the characteristics of an image region beyond the detected markings to determine a rating for drivability of the road corresponding to said image region, and detecting the lateral offset of the vehicle relative to the markings on the road based on the detected road markings. A warning signal is generated as function of said lateral offset and said rating.
