  • Patent number: 9509793
Abstract: Content (e.g., files such as streaming audio or video) may be efficiently cached and delivered in a network. In one implementation, a method may include receiving, from a requesting computing device, a request for a segment of a content item, the request indicating one or more positions in the content item that define the segment of the content item. The method may further include determining a second segment of the content item, different from the first segment of the content item, in which the second segment of the content item is aligned so that an end position of the second segment of the content item matches an end position of one of a number of predetermined segments for the content item. The method may further include obtaining the second segment of the content item and transmitting the obtained second segment of the content item to the requesting computing device.

  • Patent number: 9509760
Abstract: A device, of a cloud computing environment, receives an instruction to create a virtual packet analyzer from a user device associated with a user. The device creates the virtual packet analyzer in the device based on the instruction, and receives a packet provided in a portion of the cloud computing environment associated with the user. The virtual packet analyzer determines information associated with the packet, and determines whether to duplicate the packet based on the information. The virtual packet analyzer processes the packet based on whether the packet is to be duplicated. A duplicate packet of the packet is generated when it is determined that the packet is to be duplicated, and is transmitted to another device to identify or resolve a problem within the portion. The packet is transmitted to a destination of the packet when it is determined that the packet is not to be duplicated.

  • Patent number: 9509740
Abstract: A system may receive information indicating that an amount of content, buffered by a user device, is below a threshold amount that is associated with an attribute of the content; and/or information indicating that delivered content exceeds capabilities of the user device. The content may be provided to the user device by a content delivery network (“CDN”). The system may determine whether the CDN has available resources to provide the content to the user device at a bandwidth that is based on the attribute; instruct, when the CDN has the available resources, the CDN to reallocate resources to provide the content to the user device at the particular bandwidth; and switch, when the CDN does not have the available resources, delivery of the content to another CDN. The system may have a global of view of CDNs, and may reallocate CDN resources more intelligently, thus optimizing network resource utilization.

Abstract: A network device receives a collection of technical steps for implementing a type of service campaign. The technical steps include application programming interface (API) level calls to a service provider network. The network device associates the technical steps with particular customer software, receives validation criteria for each of the technical steps, generates a diagnostic map of the technical steps for the particular customer software, and conducts, based on the diagnostic map, a test of the API level calls for the particular customer software to obtain test results. The network device receives a customer deployment record of changes occurring during software deployments for the service campaign for the particular customer software and receives a provider record of service provider changes to network level software that impact the service campaign for the particular customer software. The network device correlates the test results with the customer deployment record and the provider record.
