Abstract: The shell of the breakers is mounted on the upper part of the housing of a cone crusher in such a way that when expansion of the shell occurs under operation of the cone crusher the mounting bolts are not twisted or sheared and at the same time are readily accessible for replacement. Thus the shell is provided with a number of symmetrically spaced pockets around the middle part of its outer surface, each of these pockets extends through a corresponding opening in the casing and is connected to a mounting bolt for attaching to the casing through the intermediary of a two-arm lever directed radially away from the shell.
Abstract: In a mixing machine which has three sets of mixing blades, disk means for driving the sets one above the other, and all said disk means adapted to rotate about a vertical shaft in horizontal planes and to be driven by a single motor and wherein the disk of the middle set of blades is constructed to rotate in the opposite direction to the other two, a drive comprising a gearing unit protected by cover means is provided which is adapted to drive all the sets of blades from said vertical shaft. Said drive means comprising, gearing, disk means, cover, etc., is combined into a single unit so that it can be replaced as a unit.
Abstract: Air purifier in which a sealed housing having an air intake aperture and an air outlet aperture is provided with a blower mounted to circulate the air, and in which a filter and means for receiving a supply of disinfectant and/or perfume are arranged between the blower and the inlet aperture so as to be capable of replacement from the intake aperture. A presettable timer/switch is provided to control the supply of power to the blower, for intermittently actuating said blower.
Abstract: A container for storing liquids is injection molded of thermoplastic material in apparatus which includes a plurality of central die members intermittently movable in succession along a given direction and a pair of side die members flanking said central die members and movable into and out of operative engagement therewith. The container is injection molded within a die cavity formed between the central die members and the side die members with two sheets of a base material being fed from opposite sides of said central die members into said die cavity to form a base member for said container. The container base member formed from said sheets of base material is engaged about the central die members and when the side die members are brought into operative engagement with the central die members thermoplastic material is injected into the die cavity formed therebetween and the container is produced by injection molding the thermoplastic material integrally with the base member within the die cavity.
Abstract: Defects in the sealings of closures are located and measured by rotating the sealed closure and directing a light beam to the sealed area. The light beam reflected from the sealing mass is compared to a prespecified rated value and any deviation resulting from the comparison results in actuation of an ejecting device for ejecting the defective closure from the testing station.
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for continuously making liquid filled packages wherein a tube is formed from a web, and, having been filled with liquid, is passed round a first turntable to be pre-shaped into packages and to shape first side walls of the packages. The tube is transversely sealed an cut on the first turntable and then passed round a second turntable to shape second, opposite, side walls of the packages.
Abstract: Apparatus for sealing together portions of material having a sealable plastics coating includes opposed jaws each carrying a guide rail with a slot to receive marginal edges of the material and to spread these edges apart. Hot air is blown onto the spread apart edges to soften the plastics material. The edges are then urged together to form a seam which is accurately defined by the jaws.
Abstract: A welding jaw for thermoplastics material comprises a cooled carrier with two parallel heating elements on one surface. At least part of the surface of the carrier is so spaced from the surfaces of the elements that on welding, material flows from under the element to be cooled and hardened on contacting the surface part. Thus allows rapid firm welding and is particularly useful in transverse welding of liquid filled tubes.
