  • Patent number: 11890046
Abstract: A medical system for ablating a tissue site with real-time monitoring during an electroporation treatment procedure. A pulse generator generates a pre-treatment (PT) test signal prior to the treatment procedure and intra-treatment (IT) test signals during the treatment procedure. A treatment control module determines impedance values from the PT test signal and IT test signals and determines a progress of electroporation and an end point of treatment in real-time based on the determined impedance values while the treatment progresses.

  • Patent number: 11880188
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the intelligent distribution of data for robotic, autonomous, and similar systems. To reduce the impact of multi-agent coordination on networked systems embodiments are disclosed that include the use of action-based constraints which yield constrained-action POMDP (CA-POMDP) models, and probabilistic constraint satisfaction for the resulting infinite-horizon finite state controllers. To enable constraint analysis over an infinite horizon, an unconstrained policy is first represented as a finite state controller (FSC). A combination of a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) routine and a discrete optimization routine can be performed on the finite state controller to improve probabilistic constraint satisfaction of the finite state controller, while minimizing impact to a value function.

  • Patent number: 11840606
Abstract: Described here are blocky PEEK copolymers and corresponding synthesis methods. It was surprisingly found that synthesis of blocky PEEK copolymers in a non-solvent environment with respect to PEEK produced blocky PEEK copolymers with high degrees of functionalization and crystallinity. The blocky PEEK copolymers had an increased blocky structure, relative to corresponding PEEK copolymer synthesized with other known methods. Moreover, membranes formed from the blocky PEEK polymers are particularly desirable in fuel cell applications. For example, the membranes formed from the blocky PEEK polymers had surprisingly large ion conductivities as well as significantly improved chemical and thermal resistance, at least in part, to the improved functionalization and crystallinity.

  • Patent number: 11752451
Abstract: Hydrophobic particles such as coal and hydrophobized mineral fines can be readily separated from hydrophilic impurities by forming agglomerates in water using a hydrophobic liquids such as oil. The agglomerates of hydrophobic particles usually entrap large amounts of water, causing the moisture of the recovered hydrophobic particles to be excessively high. This problem can be overcome by dispersing the hydrophobic agglomerates in a hydrophobic liquid that can be readily recycled. The dispersion can be achieved using specially designed apparatus and methods that can create a turbulence that can help destabilize the agglomerates in a recyclable hydrophobic liquid and facilitate the dispersion.

  • Patent number: 11708376
Abstract: The disclosure provides compounds of Formula (I-A) and (I-B) and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The variables, R, R2, R3, X1, X2, X3, Y1, Y, and Z are defined herein. Certain compounds of Formula (I-A) and (I-B) act as selective mitochondrial protonophore uncouplers that do not affect plasma membrane potential. These compounds are useful for treating or decreasing the risk of conditions responsive to mitochondrial uncoupling, such as cancer, obesity, type II diabetes, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, Parkinson's disease, ischemia reperfusion injury, heart failure, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALFD), and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), Because mitochondrial uncouplers decrease the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are known to contribute to age-related cell damage, the compounds are useful for increasing lifespan. Compounds and salts of Formulae (I-A) and (I-B) are also useful for regulating glucose homeostasis or insulin action in a patient.
