Abstract: A contact lens for use in controlling the progression of myopia has a central optical zone approximating the normal diameter of the pupil of the eye that gives clear central vision at distance for the wearer. An annular peripheral optical zone that is substantially outside the diameter of the pupil is formed around the central optical zone with greater refractive power than that of the central zone so that oblique rays entering the eye through the peripheral optical zone will be brought to focus at a focal plane that is substantially on or anterior to the peripheral region of the retina.

Abstract: An optical processor is presented for applying optical processing to a light field passing through a predetermined imaging lens unit. The optical processor comprises a pattern in the form of spaced apart regions of different optical properties. The pattern is configured to define a phase coder, and a dispersion profile coder. The phase coder affects profiles of Through Focus Modulation Transfer Function (TFMTF) for different wavelength components of the light field in accordance with a predetermined profile of an extended depth of focusing to be obtained by the imaging lens unit. The dispersion profile coder is configured in accordance with the imaging lens unit and the predetermined profile of the extended depth of focusing to provide a predetermined overlapping between said TFMTF profiles within said predetermined profile of the extended depth of focusing.

Abstract: An image sensing device and an image sensing method are provided. The image sensing device includes an image sensing array, multiple first signal converters, and multiple first image processing apparatuses. The image sensing array is partitioned into at least two or more first pixel capturing areas, and each of the first pixel capturing areas is compliant with a resolution of an SDTV format. Each of the first signal converters receives an analog image signal from a corresponding first pixel capturing area, converts the analog image signal from an analog format to a digital format to generate a first digital image signal, and converts the first digital image signal from an parallel format to a serial format. Each of the image processing apparatuses is configured to convert the first digital image signal in the serial format of a corresponding first signal converter to a video signal in a specific video format.
