Abstract: Disclosed are lenses and methods for verifying a lens with an induced aperture. The lenses can have a geometry that, among other things, maintains a centered position about a wearer's eye to prevent more than a permissible amount of movement of the lens relative to the eye. Further disclosed is a method for verifying the power profiles used with the lens, and a lens that can have a single power profile for a wide range of presbyopia.

Abstract: An aerial panoramic oblique photography apparatus includes a pod body provided with at least two nadir cameras and a plurality of oblique cameras. The at least two nadir cameras are arranged in a transverse direction, and the shooting regions of adjacent nadir cameras of the at least two nadir cameras are partially overlapping. Since the aerial panoramic oblique photography apparatus is provided with at least two transversely arranged nadir cameras, a plurality of stripes of aerial images is obtained for each aerial oblique photo-shooting operation. This can increase photo-shooting efficiency, reduce the number of flight, and lower photo-shooting cost. The combination of at least two nadir cameras and a plurality of oblique cameras can capture texture of the sides of urban buildings from multiple angles. Three-dimensional real scenery model of a city can be established more efficiently and completely.
Abstract: A light-emitting device, especially for lighting and/or signaling for a motor vehicle, includes at least a first electroluminescent module and a second electroluminescent module energized in series. Each electroluminescent module includes, in parallel: a first branch having a light source having a first direct threshold voltage beyond which the light source is gated on, and a second branch having an element such that the voltage on the terminals of the element is less than the first direct threshold voltage of the light source. A third branch has a timing module able to time a predetermined period and modify, at the end of the predetermined period, an overall impedance of the second branch so that a voltage in the second branch is greater than the first direct threshold voltage of the light source. The predetermined period in the first electroluminescent module is less than that of the second electroluminescent module.
Abstract: Systems and methods use cameras to provide autonomous and/or driver-assist navigation features. In some implementations, techniques for predicting the location of first roadway lane constraints are provided. The system may receive multiple images of a roadway in a vicinity of a vehicle, recognize a first roadway lane constraint, and, when lane prediction conditions are determined to be satisfied, predict a location of a second roadway lane constraint. In some implementations, techniques for detecting and responding to construction zones are provided. The system may receive multiple images of a roadway in a vicinity of a vehicle, recognize indicators of a construction zone in the images, determine that the vehicle is proximate to a construction zone, and output a signal indicating that the vehicle is proximate to a construction zone.

Abstract: Translating contact lenses which are truncated for correcting presbyopia and whose design is optimized to maximize translation ability while maintaining comfort when the lens is worn on eye. Truncation of the lenses results in a non-round geometry while still retaining under-lid residency in select portions of the lens itself. Maximum thickness and back surface radius of curvature along with ramp shape can be optimized individually or in combination to maximize translation of the lens relative to the eye, when the lens is positioned on eye.

Abstract: Described herein are various technologies pertaining to automated container inspection. A region in an image of a container is labeled as being subject to depicting reflections. When determining whether or not the container is defective based upon the image of the container, values of pixels of the image are compared to corresponding statistics of such pixels, where the statistics can identify an acceptable distribution of values for a pixel. For pixels in the above-mentioned region, more variance in the values of the pixels is allowed (compared to allowed variance when analyzing values of pixels outside of the region) when determining whether or not the container is defective based upon the values of the pixels.
