Abstract: A shock absorber has a main piston and a compression piston, connected by a compression piston housing. In stage 1, the shock absorber operates as a conventional monotube, with the damping force being generated only by the main piston. In stage 2, the compression piston travels into the compression housing, as the shock absorber still operates as a monotube damper. In stage 3, the compression piston is now significantly increasing its compression damping force by supplementing the main piston. The oil volume in the compression piston housing passes through the compression piston, causing an increase in compression damping force.
Abstract: A retrofittable rear aft suspension assembly comprises an air spring retained between an air spring upper mount and an air spring lower mount. The air spring lower mount is attached to the leaf spring or axle, while the air spring upper mount is attached to the vehicle chassis through U-bolts, quarter turn nuts, C-straps or an adjustable chassis hook. This allows an installer to quickly install and remove an air spring to a wide variety of chassis types without having to access the difficult-to-reach regions behind the chassis, or damage the chassis through welding, cutting or drilling additional holes. A cradle extends from the air spring upper mount under the chassis to carry the majority of the vertical load from the air spring to the bottom of the chassis.
Abstract: A hard-shell tent is secured to the top of a pickup truck or other suitable vehicle. The tent opens in a clamshell manner, and opens more than the standard 90 degrees, which gives this tent approximately 20% more usable space for occupants over the current designs. A unique hinge mechanism allows the tent to open approximately 110 degrees, which increases the usable area without increasing the footprint of the tent. The tent features a side slide/second folding section, and one or more internal shelves that fold into place automatically as the tent is opened.
Abstract: A flush mount fog pod is front-mounted through a hole in a vehicle or bumper frame. A bracket is inserted through the hole and turned 90 degrees for mounting to a bezel, which is attached to the front of the hole with bolts and nuts. A light pod is then snapped into the bracket. An adjustor bolt adjustably attaches to the back of the light pod through an access hole in the bezel and controls the tilt of the light pod by screwing and unscrewing the head of the adjustor bolt from the front of the light. A protective cover rotates over the head of the adjustor bolt when not in use to protect it from dirt and debris.
