Abstract: A barrel installation assembly is used for easily installing a barrel onto a receiver of a firearm with proper torque and alignment. The barrel installation assembly includes a barrel nut, barrel nut spacers, and a barrel installation tool. The barrel nut is configured to fasten the barrel to the receiver. The barrel nut spacers are configured to be interposed between the barrel nut and the receiver when the barrel is fastened thereto. The barrel installation tool includes a head portion configured to removably engage with the barrel nut, and a handle portion extending from the head portion.
Abstract: In general terms, this disclosure is directed to a trigger mechanism with a mode selector element that is placeable in a safety mode, a semi-automatic fire mode, and a momentary automatic fire mode. In one possible configuration and by non-limiting example, the mode selector element includes a selector block and a handle portion extending from the selector block to allow the selector block to be rotated between the different modes. The mode selector element is configured such that the selector block can be indexed into the safety mode and the fire mode. The mode selector element is additionally configured such that the selector mode is spring biased to automatically rotate from the momentary automatic fire mode to the fire mode when the handle portion is not constrained by a force, such as when an operator releases the handle portion.
Abstract: A mount for attaching an accessory to a firearm that has a mounting rail and a scope with an objective lens. The mount includes a body with a passageway defined by a perimeter. The passageway configured to receive the objective lens within the perimeter while the scope is secured to the firearm. The mount also includes a fastener block to releasably secure the body over a location along the mounting rail. The fastener block is secured to the mount body. The mount also includes an accessory mounting rail supported by the body. The accessory mounting rail supports the accessory.
Abstract: A sear mechanism for a firearm includes a trigger element having one or more contact surfaces on which one or more movable or pivotable components of the sear mechanism selectively contacts or slides. In some embodiments, the trigger element is made by producing an intermediate workpiece of the trigger element by a manufacturing process, and electric discharge machining the intermediate workpiece of the trigger element to provide the contact surfaces.
