Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a firearm includes a hammer element pivotable between a ready position and a fired position, and a trigger element pivotable between a first position that retains the hammer element in the ready position, and a second position that releases the hammer element. The hammer element may include a hammer sear having an initial sear surface and a terminal sear surface. The trigger element may include a trigger sear that at least partially engages a portion of the hammer sear when the hammer element is in the ready position.
Abstract: A safety selector assembly for a firearm includes a cylinder sized and shaped to be rotatably received within a lower receiver. The cylinder includes a cylinder end having a recess defined therein, and a plunger disposed at least partially within the recess. The plunger is moveably secured within the recess by a pin. The safety selector assembly also includes a lever detachably coupled to the cylinder end by the plunger.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a mount for attaching an accessory to a firearm including: a body having at least one firearm rail mounting feature; at least one mounting cap removably securable to the body, the at least one mounting cap capable of forming a generally cylindrical passage with a portion of the body; and an auxiliary accessory mount removably securable to the body over the at least one mounting cap, wherein the auxiliary accessory mount includes: an accessory mounting surface configured to receive a firearm accessory; and a mounting feature extending generally perpendicular to the accessory mounting surface, the mounting feature being removably securable to the body.
Abstract: A firearm includes a receiver for housing a trigger mechanism. The receiver is attached to a firearm barrel, and the receiver includes a bolt carrier that is configured to reciprocate therein. The firearm includes a recoil spring that has a first end and a second end, and the first end interfaces with the bolt carrier. The recoil spring further includes a dampened portion positioned between the first and second ends. The dampened portion has a plurality of dead spring coils. The firearm also includes a spring retainer that is configured to retain the recoil spring within the firearm.
