Abstract: A firearm accessory includes a firearm attachment portion that is configured to attach to a firearm. The firearm attachment portion defines a barrel passage that defines a barrel passage axis. The barrel passage is configured to receive at least a portion of a firearm barrel. The firearm accessory includes an accessory mounting portion that is pivotally attached to the firearm attachment portion. The accessory mounting portion is movable between an open position and a closed position. When in the open position, the accessory mounting portion is positioned away from the barrel passage, and when in the closed position, the accessory mounting portion is positioned at least partially around the barrel passage.
Abstract: Firearm weights and firearm rails having one or more weights that hug the interior surface of the firearm rail and/or orient a firearm sling loop in an appropriate position on the firearm are disclosed herein.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a buffer kit or assembly for an AR-15, M16, M4 carbine, SR-25, AR-10 and LR-308 type firearm with enhanced fatigue resistance. The buffer assembly includes a weighted buffer, a spring, and a buffer tube. The spring is helically shaped and is formed from multiple wire strands. The stranded wire spring has a greater nominal wire diameter, in comparison to prior art single wire springs, and thus the stranded wire spring itself has a smaller internal diameter. The shoulder of the weighted buffer is provided with a reduced diameter to accommodate the smaller internal diameter of the stranded wire spring.
Abstract: Firearm weights and firearm rails having one or more weights that hug the interior surface of the firearm rail and/or orient a firearm sling loop in an appropriate position on the firearm.
Abstract: A trigger mechanism includes a hammer element that has a ready position, an intermediate position, and a fired position. The hammer element includes a hammer sear and a notch positioned at a front of the hammer element. The trigger mechanism includes a trigger element has a ready position that retains the hammer element in the ready position. The trigger mechanism also includes a fired position that releases the hammer element. The trigger element includes a trigger sear that includes a hammer sear engagement zone and a notch engagement zone. When the hammer element is in the ready position, the trigger sear at least partially engages the hammer sear at the hammer sear engagement zone. When the hammer element is in the intermediate positon, the trigger sear at least partially engages the notch at the notch engagement zone and not at the hammer sear engagement zone.
Abstract: A firearm includes a receiver for housing a trigger mechanism. The receiver is attached to a firearm barrel, and the receiver includes a bolt carrier that is configured to reciprocate therein. The firearm includes a recoil spring that has a first end and a second end, and the first end interfaces with the bolt carrier. The recoil spring further includes a dampened portion positioned between the first and second ends. The dampened portion has a plurality of dead spring coils. The firearm also includes a spring retainer that is configured to retain the recoil spring within the firearm.
Abstract: A barrel installation assembly is used for easily installing a barrel onto a receiver of a firearm with proper torque and alignment. The barrel installation assembly includes a barrel nut, barrel nut spacers, and a barrel installation tool. The barrel nut is configured to fasten the barrel to the receiver. The barrel nut spacers are configured to be interposed between the barrel nut and the receiver when the barrel is fastened thereto. The barrel installation tool includes a head portion configured to removably engage with the barrel nut, and a handle portion extending from the head portion.
