  • Patent number: 8155572
Abstract: A dual mode media registration transport and media pre-transfer baffle arrangement within a printer enables printing onto normal and heavy weight media materials. In a first mode, the arrangement allows normal media to enter pre-transfer baffles with the normal “S” shape, which allows all performance specifications to be maintained. To accommodate heavy weight media, the registration transport and pre-transfer baffles are moved into a second mode position which straightens the media path and enables heavy weight media to enter the pre-transfer area. Thus, enabling the printing of these materials which could not be processed through the “S” shape baffle arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20120084781
Abstract: An information processing device includes an image forming device, an execution sub-job determining unit, a sub-job execution destination determining unit and an execution instructing unit. The image forming device is designated as a destination and executes at least a sub-job executed N-th as the last sub-job out of N sub-jobs in a case where a job is divided into N sub-jobs. The execution sub-job determining unit determines a sub-job other than the executed N-th sub-job within a range of the occupiable time of the image forming device in a case where there is an available capacity in the image forming device. The sub-job execution destination determining unit determines the execution destination of each sub job. The execution instructing unit instructs a calculation resource to execute the first to (i?1)-th sub-jobs and instructs the image forming device to execute the i-th to N-th sub-jobs.

  • Publication number: 20120081715
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes the following elements. A transport unit transports a medium on which plural marks are formed at predetermined intervals in the transport direction of the medium. An image forming unit forms an image on the medium. A reading unit is disposed to oppose positions at which the plural marks on the medium are formed so as to read the medium and to generate read information. A detecting unit detects the plural marks from the read information in accordance with predetermined times based on the predetermined intervals of the plural marks. A position adjusting unit adjusts the position of the image to be formed on the medium on the basis of a result of detecting the plural marks. A speed adjusting unit adjusts the transport speed of the medium on the basis of the read information.

  • Publication number: 20120081726
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes the following elements. An image information generator generates, in response to an instruction, print image information to print plural pieces of image information in parallel in plural columns. A division manager divides the print image information into regions, each region having a length equal to the greatest common divisor of lengths of the image information. A manager manages, every time a printing operation is performed, the regions subjected to the printing operation such that the regions are divided into print guaranteed regions and print non-guaranteed regions. A print restart region determining unit determines, upon detection of an occurrence of an abnormality during the printing operation, a print restart region after recovery from the abnormality is completed on the basis of the print guaranteed regions and the regions of the print image information.

  • Publication number: 20120081755
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate reducing a number of patches used in characterizing a color halftone printer via a binary color printer model. A binary printer model involves printing of a fundamental set of color binary patterns that encompass all possible halftone outputs. A k-center clustering technique is employed to automatically find and eliminate redundancies in the initial set of binary color patterns. Once the number of patches is reduced to an acceptable number, a multiplicative reflectance model is applied that better approximates the physical process and therefore improves accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20120081738
Abstract: A job execution system includes one or more transmission apparatuses and a job receiving apparatus. The one or more transmission apparatuses add identification information for identifying a group of jobs to be executed in succession to a job and transmit an execution request of the job. The job receiving apparatus receives the transmitted execution request of the job. The job receiving apparatus includes a job queue and a job registration unit. The job registration unit makes a correspondence between the received execution request and the identification information, and registers said received execution request and said identification information in the job queue. When the received execution request has the same identification information which is previously registered in the job queue, the job registration unit registers the received execution request immediately after another execution request of a job having the same identification information.
