Abstract: A system and method for user authentication include a user instructing component and a voice authentication component. The user instructing component generates an instruction for authenticating a voice of a user. The instruction includes a first instruction to recite one or more non-language words. The voice authentication component analyzes a sound signal which includes a response to the instruction. The voice authentication component can authenticate the voice of the user using the response to the instruction including a response to the first instruction to recite the one or more non-language words.
Abstract: An apparatus (100) and method (200) that detaches media from a fuser in a printer is disclosed. The method can include feeding (220) a media sheet through a fuser member and applying (230) gas from an air knife to the media sheet on the fuser member to detach the media sheet at a detach point from the fuser member. The method can also include asserting (240) tension on the media sheet using a set of rotational members and continuing to apply gas from the air knife to the media sheet until the set of rotational members asserts tension on the media sheet.

Abstract: A method comprises selecting a first and second datum stored in an array of image data and corresponding to a first and second defective inkjet ejector, the second defective inkjet ejector being within a search pattern positioned about the first datum, modifying the search pattern positioned about the first datum in response to detection of the second datum being within the search pattern positioned about the first datum, identifying a third datum stored in the array of image data and being within the modified search pattern positioned about the first datum, the third datum corresponding to a first functional inkjet ejector, modifying the third datum with reference to the first datum, and operating the first functional inkjet ejector with reference to the modified third datum to compensate for the first defective inkjet ejector being unable to eject ink corresponding to the first datum.
Abstract: A metal nanoparticle composition includes an organic-stabilized metal nanoparticle and a solvent in which the solvent selected has the following Hansen solubility parameters: a dispersion parameter of about 16 MPa0.5 or more, and a sum of a polarity parameter and a hydrogen bonding parameter of about 8.0 MPa0.5 or less. The metal nanoparticle composition is suitable for printing conductive lines that are uniform, smooth and narrow on various substrate surfaces. The metal nanoparticle composition is able to form printed conductive features having a coffee ring effect ratio of about 1.2 to about 0.8, a surface roughness of about 15 or less and a line width of about 200 microns or less.

Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus includes a support unit on which sheets are stacked together as a sheet stack and aligned; first and second binding units that respectively perform first and second binding processes to bind the sheet stack as first and second sheet stacks; a transporting unit that transports the first and second sheet stacks from the support unit toward first and second paths, respectively, which are in opposite directions; a reversing-and-transporting unit arranged at the second path, the reversing-and-transporting unit transporting and reversing the second sheet stack; a first output tray arranged at the first path, the first sheet stack being transported to the first output tray by the transporting unit; and a second output tray arranged at the second path, the second sheet stack being reversed and transported to the second output tray by the reversing-and-transporting unit.
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate generating a color interference effect during opening and closing of a package for a product. The package includes first and second portions, each having printed thereon a color interference pattern. All or part of the second package portion is transparent, permitting the color interference pattern on the first package portion to be seen through the second package portion. The package portions are mated together (e.g., in a tube and sleeve arrangement or the like), such that the color interference patterns are aligned and overlap each other completely when the package is closed. As the package is opened (or closed), the interference patterns move or slide past each other, creating the visible color interference effect.

Abstract: An optical transmission device includes: a substrate on which an element portion that includes a semiconductor layer transmitting or receiving an optical signal, and a support portion that includes a conductive semiconductor layer are formed; an optical transmission member that is arranged to face the element portion and the support portion and to be optically coupled to the element portion; and a conductive member that is provided on the support portion and electrically contacts the optical transmission member.
Abstract: A system adjusts at least one operational parameter for at least one electrical energy consuming device. The system monitors electrical energy consumption measurements for operational activity periods, identifies an electrical energy consumption measurement difference between an electrical energy consumption measurement for an operational activity period and an electrical energy consumption measurement for a corresponding operational activity period, and modifies an operational parameter for the electrical energy consuming device in response to the difference being greater than a predetermined threshold. The modified operational parameter is sent to the electrical energy consuming device to enable modified operation of the electrical energy consuming device.
Abstract: A dual mode media registration transport and media pre-transfer baffle arrangement within a printer enables printing onto normal and heavy weight media materials. In a first mode, the arrangement allows normal media to enter pre-transfer baffles with the normal “S” shape, which allows all performance specifications to be maintained. To accommodate heavy weight media, the registration transport and pre-transfer baffles are moved into a second mode position which straightens the media path and enables heavy weight media to enter the pre-transfer area. Thus, enabling the printing of these materials which could not be processed through the “S” shape baffle arrangement.

Abstract: A droplet ejecting component of the present invention includes an ejecting component having a charge and discharge characteristic, an applying component being provided with a transistor, and an increasing component. The ejecting component ejects a droplet. When a control signal is inputted, the applying component applies an application voltage to the ejecting component, and the increasing component increases the impedance of the transistor.
Abstract: A system for generating one or more new hardcopy prints from an electronic file comprising original digital image data, wherein the new hardcopy print(s) match a legacy hardcopy previously generated from the original digital image data of the electronic file, even when the legacy hardcopy was printed from an “enhanced” or “tuned” version of the original image data. The original image data and scanner data derived by scanning the legacy hardcopy are used to identify corresponding areas of constant color in the original data and the legacy hardcopy. The corresponding color areas are represented in a colorimetric color space and the original data color values are adjusted to match the legacy hardcopy color values. The adjusted data are used to print a new hardcopy.
Abstract: A method for processing an electronic document file for printing may include receiving an electronic document file at a print driver for a select printer; determining the electronic document file includes different print parameter information for a different printer based on configuration data; identifying and transforming the different print parameter information to select print parameter information based on mapping information; processing document print parameter information associated with the electronic document file, where a portion of the document print parameter information was transformed from the different print parameter information; and sending a print stream to the select printer for printing the electronic document file consistent with the different print parameter information. A related system may include a storage device and a processor. The storage device may include the print driver and configuration data with the mapping information.
