Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a first extracting unit that extracts a position of a character entry box in an input image; a recognizing unit that recognizes a character string written in the character entry box; a calculating unit that calculates recognition accuracy of each of characters of the character string recognized by the recognizing unit; a first detector that detects that a value based on the recognition accuracy is equal to or larger than a preset threshold value; a second extracting unit that extracts a position of a circumscribed rectangle for each character of the character string in the input image; a second detector that detects contact of the circumscribed rectangle with the character entry box; and a display that displays the character string to be corrected on the basis of a result of detection by the first detector and a result of detection by the second detector.
Abstract: A reader suitable for reading data from a printed memory device attached to a curved surface includes a flexible wiring assembly that can be repositioned from a first position having a first profile into a second position having a second profile. In the first position, electrical contacts of the reader do not electrically couple with contact pads of the printed memory device, while in the second position the electrical contacts of the reader electrically couple to the contact pads of the printed memory. In one implementation, the flexible wiring assembly includes a flexible underlayer that supports the plurality of electrical contacts. In another implementation, the flexible wiring assembly includes a rigid first portion and a rigid second portion that pivot about a pivot point.
Abstract: An image processing device includes: a fold unit that folds a first adjustment sheet including an adjustment pattern, over the adjustment pattern based on a predetermined reference fold position; an image reader that reads an image of the adjustment pattern with the first adjustment sheet folded by the fold unit unfolded; a position identifying unit that, based on a fold line in the image of the adjustment pattern read by the image reader, identifies a position of the fold line; and a position adjusting unit that adjusts a fold position of the fold unit based on a difference between the position of the fold line identified by the position identifying unit and the reference fold position. Abstract: Systems and methods for generating high resolution dewarped images for an image of a document captured by a 3D stereo digital camera system, or a mobile phone camera capturing a sequence of images, which may improve OCR performance. Example embodiments include a compact stereo camera with two sensors mounted at fixed locations, and a multi-resolution pipeline to process and to dewarp the images using a three dimensional surface model based on curve profiles of the computed depth map. Example embodiments also include a mobile phone including a camera which captures a sequence of images, and a processor which computes a disparity map using the captured sequence of image frames, computes a model of the at least one document page by generating a cylindrical three dimensional geometric surface using the computed disparity map, and renders a dewarped image from the computed model.

Abstract: An electronic system for identifying an article can include a printed memory having a plurality of contact pads electrically coupled to a plurality of landing pads positioned on a first side of a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate. The plurality of landing pads can be electrically coupled to a plurality of endless, concentric contact lines positioned on a second side of the PCB substrate through a plurality of vias that extend through a thickness of the PCB substrate and a plurality of traces that electrically couple the plurality of vias with the plurality of landing pads. To perform a memory operation on the printed memory, contact probes of a reader are physically and electrically contacted with the plurality of concentric contact lines. In some implementations, the memory operation can be performed on the printed memory irrespective of a rotational orientation of the printed memory relative to the reader.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for inline rendering of a color filter within a print job. A program associated with a printing system can select an overhead transparency media to serve as a color filter during inline print job finishing. A duplex path and finishing for the transparency media can be enabled on the printing system by the program. A first side of the overhead transparency media can be printed on with one or more colors by the printing system by the program. A transform can be used on a second side of the overhead transparency media to correct for front to back registration and includes one or more colors printed directly underneath colors printed on the first side by the program. The transparency medium including color filters can be inserted into pages of the print job, which can be rendered in the form of a bound book.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image holding body, a transfer member, and a controller. The image holding body holds an image formed of toner. The transfer member is brought into contact with a continuous medium so as to transfer the image held by the image holding body to the continuous medium, and the transfer member is able to be brought into contact with and separated from the image holding body. The support unit rotatably supports a rotating shaft of the transport unit. The support unit includes a connecting component that connects to an external element to receive external rotational power. When the transport unit reversely rotates in an opposite direction to a rotational direction in transporting the developer, the transport blade passes in contact with the protrusion and vibrates so as to touch the inner wall of the accommodating space.
