Abstract: A computer implemented method of associating a non-electronic map with an electronic map is provided. The method comprises, for an obtained online data collection, generating a database of style-invariant and location-variant map representations by application of a convolutional neural network. Additionally, for a captured image associated with the non-electronic map, the captured image not having geo-location metadata, the method comprises applying a nearest neighbor heuristic to compare the captured image to the map representations and generate a match between the captured image and the map representations, and performing a display action associated with the match.

Abstract: To generate a security mark, a system prints first and second patterns on a first document using non-infrared absorbing colors. A print engine will receive the substrate and create a copy of the security mark onto a second document. When printing the second document the print engine may use ink of an infrared-absorbing color, such as black, to print a hidden security element of the security mark. When an infrared camera captures a digital image of the second document and the captured image is displayed, the captured image will reveal the hidden security element.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image output unit, an image reading unit, and a controller. The image output unit outputs an image on a recording medium. The image reading unit reads an image on a recording medium. The controller charges a first user for a fee so as to output mixed images from the image output unit. The mixed images have a first image and a second image. The first image is an image for which the first user is to pay an output fee. The second image is an image for which a second user is to pay an output fee. The second user is a charge destination different from a charge destination of the first user. When the image reading unit reads the second image for which the second user is to pay the output fee, the controller switches an output fee for the image read by the image reading unit, from the output fee charged to the first user, to the output fee that is to be paid by the second user.
Abstract: A method and structure for forming conductive structure such as an electric circuit, or a portion of an electric circuit, can include the use of a thermal print head and a ribbon including a carrier and a metal layer. The thermal print head is used to print a first portion of the metal layer onto a sacrificial print medium. The first portion printed has a first pattern, where a second portion having a second pattern remains on the carrier. The first pattern is a reverse image at least a portion of the electric circuit, while the second pattern includes at least a portion of the electric circuit. The second portion having the second pattern can be transferred to a circuit substrate, then used as an electric circuit.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of assessing whether a patent has a condition is provided, including generating a facial landmark on a received input video to define points associated with a region of interest on a face of the patient, defining a period of talking based respective positions of the defined points, during the period of talking, measuring pause frequency, repetitive pattern, and vocabulary variety, without determining or applying semantic information associated with the talking, to generate an aggregate score, and based on the aggregate score, generating a prediction of the patient having the condition associated with the aggregate score.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a notification unit that notifies that a received message has changed after reception or browsing of the message. In a further modification of the invention, the message may include a character string for guide to another link destination, and transfer to the link destination having undergone a change may be disabled.
Abstract: Example implementations are directed to a method of receiving information associated with an activity, analyze the information to identify a first pattern and a second pattern, generate a customized transition model for returning to the first pattern. In response to a detected trigger indicating a transition to the first pattern, the method assesses context factors to apply the customized transition to dynamically manage access to digital resources during the transition to the first pattern. In response to a determination that a transition to the first pattern satisfies a threshold, the method restores access to the digital resources.
